Summer Perle was originally brewed in 2004 to commemorate the 30th (Pearl) Anniversary of the Canterbury Beer Festival. It was also the fastest selling beer at the 2004 Maidstone Beer Festival. This golden ale is hopped with Kent First Gold, Yakima Valley Cascade from the USA and Hallertauer Perle hops from Germany which impart a citrus, spicy and floral finish to this summer ale.

Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, fruity, pale malt, light to moderate hoppy, earthy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, earthy, fudge, fruity, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130523]
