It pours with a light brown head, but has a whiff of skunky smell to it. Color is a dark reddish brown that reminds me of root beer. Taste is okay, nothing spectacular or overly noticeable.
Dark brown color with hints of orange when held to the light. Smallish dried bone colored head. Aroma is lightly sweet, with hints of caramel and roasted malt along with a bit of floral hops. Sweet start that leads to a slightly dry middle. Finish dries up with some roasted malt and herbal hops. Easy drinking, albeit simple dunkel. 4/12

Dark mahagony coloured beer with a medium to big, good lasting, off-white, rocky head. Aroma of sour red berries, spicy hops, faint malts. Taste is nutty, roasted malt, light metallic, some tobacco in finish. Oily texture, flat carbonation, medium body. Kinda thin. Michael27 (1882) - Berlin, GERMANY - DEC 12, 2016
Niko100 (2889) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 4, 2015
Dark brown/black color; Medium body; Aroma of toasted sweet malt, caramel, & molasses; Flavor of slight roasted sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, hops, and some dark fruit; Nicely balanced; Very nice for the style. Idiosynkrasie (7423) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUL 5, 2015
330ml bottle. Clear, dark brown colour with ruby red glimmer and small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of treacle and chocolate, light horse stable scent. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, hints of treacle, dry, roasty dark malty counterpart, mildly grassy hoppy overtones.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2016 Nice appearance, but then butter, sour milk and caramel plus wet cardboard aroma. Taste also milky, some hops on finish do not save it. Not good at all. WillemsUrenkel (1818) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - APR 6, 2015
0,33 l bottle. Thanks a lot to Kristall-König! A darkest red brown, nearly black in the glass, small light tanned head. Low malty nose. Starts malty, decent sweetness, later more toasted malt. Longlasting aftertaste. Nice one. scarletfire65 (1454) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2015
Bottle at home. Amber brown pour. Aroma of dried fruit and malt. Simple but balanced flavor with fig, raisin, cola, roasty malt. Just slightly watery, but high drinkability. Quick, crisp, finish with no hop presence but not sweet either. Tasty enough. ruigo (2706) - PORTUGAL - DEC 16, 2014
33cl bottle. Clear dark brown colour with a small slightly off-white head. Caramel, raisin and malt in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium to light body. Taste is a bit light but well balanced. Overall, a nice drinkable beer. Frank (4172) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2014
This seems like a decent dunkel but like so many German beers, it seems to have suffered on its trip over. It is brown in the glass, clear, w/ a small but long lasting head. Caramel and raisin notes from the malts are the centerpiece here but there is a good solid bit of bitterness which seems to bring out some chocolate. This is a full bodied brew w/ vigorous but soft carbonation. I don’t think my bottle was in perfect condition but this is still a good beer so pick one up if you are a fan of the style.
