In Sweden green 33cl bottle, look as the "3.5%" but has 4.8%abv and barcode for Sweden; Light off-white near white head, dense, tall, deutschhhhhh. Clear light straw golden beer, sparkling. Aroma; fruity hops, floral fruitiness, fresh brewery scents, nice aroma. Taste; bread, mild fine hops, vegetables, fruity taste with nice bready touches. Palate; slightly rubbery, body&carbonation normal. Finish; malts, breads, juicy, good. If it was made at 4.7, it could be sold in supermarkets in Norway and Finland. Pour is a straw yellow with a large white head. Aroma is dry pils malt with a little burning in there. Flavor is again a light pale pils malt with a little burning flavor in the end. This must have gone bad somewhere along the journey.

It crazily says "ale" on the bottle, I presume to fit Texas licensing laws, but oh well.... I had a really open mind about this, and with the tradition of German purity laws, even some presumption of quality. I was disappointed. It pours a weak yellow with obvious large carbonation like a mineral water and a reasonably formed, white head. The aroma carries a bit of hops to it but also some grassy, skunky notes--this was a brand-new shipment to Texas, so it is not old. The flavor has a certain sweetness with a residual sticky afterfeel, but early on I reacted most strongly to a metallic twinge lacing across the front flavors. Undistinguished beer, even in its style. At least it didn't have any adjunct flavors--how could it, afterall, when the Purity Laws ensure that all the beer coming from Germany is high quality (dry sarcasm intended).

Not bad for two-year-old German Pilsner stored at room temperature. Small White head that didn't last too long except for a little bit of lace and a clear golden color. Aroma is malt crackers bread dough and a little hops. Flavors Lake aroma with malt sweetness and carbonic tang in control hop bitterness in the background. Palate is decent. Good drinking beer although a bit sweet for a Pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 17, 2005 Very refreshing and simple brew. Nice hoppy flavor that doesn’t try to make too much of a spectacle. Good, good stuff. Hints of hops and wheat, with a slight rounding of malt in the finish.

Pours a light golden color with a finger of fizzy white foam and lots of rising bubbles. Nose is doughy malts, corn and a hint of grass. Palate is astrigent with sweet corn and a strange slickness. Bit of grassy bitterness cleans it up but some strange sweetness lingers. Meh

[bottle] Aroma=Crisp citrusy hops together with some almost caramelly base malt. Clear dark yellow with a lasting, thin, white cover. Flavour is clean, but boring, typical German pils. Heavy on the bittering hops with not much to hold it up. Enough malt flavour to cover the ethanol, but not much else. Light body, medium carbonation, slightly vegetal bitter finish.

Test vom 15.9.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche

No nose to speak, though nothing bad about it. Yellow colo and a spongy head. Sharp pointed hop end that tinges to the center of the tongue. Otherwise nothing in the taste profile to speak of. Thin and dry, watery but somehow balanced.

Ok - I have to admit that I*m not very nice to German Beers every time I come back from Belgium - I might have a spoiled taste :-) but still... Light yellow, little head, fizzy carbonation, sweet corn nose, herb, parfume and hay taste.
