After a hot bike ride at the Keiser Karel in Olen, one of these sure hit the spot. A bit bitter, but overall, quite enjoyable and refreshing.

Marrom, avermelhada contra a luz. Espuma bege, de curta duração. No sabor tem caramelo, um certo doce frutado, lembra um pouco doce de bala, de açúcar mascavo também. Final e retrogosto levemente lupulado, cítrico e amargo.

I was lucky enough to enjoy this one on tap from Brussels’ oldest bar. Everything about this beer from the dark amber/brown color to the roasted taste is right up my alley as far as beer is concerned. Absolutely would recommend this beer to anyone who can get their hands on it. Favorite of all the trappist beers.

330 ml bottle. Translucent reddish brown color. Small, bubbly beige head. Dried fruit nose. Soft toasted malt flavor has a tangy, dark dried fruit essence. Subtle, yet complex. Nutty, earthy, vanilla notes. Sweet brown sugar malty notes in finish. Quite delicious, thank you.

Oryginalna butelka 330 ml. Dobry dubbel, klasyka gatunku. Barwa rubinowo-brunatna. Pełne ciało, wysycenie niemałe. Aromaty ziemiste; w smaku delikatnie drożdżowe, nieduża refermentacja. Dobrze ułożone i skomponowane piwo; mimo iż nie jestem wielkim fanem stylu.

Aroma of fruits and malt with Belgian yeast. The taste of caramel and fruits. Very well everything is balanced. There are also chocolate notes and the same yeast. The aftertaste is pleasantly bitter and fruity sweet at the same time.

Great beer. Dark fruits and caramel are prominent. It’s not boozy but drinks like it should higher in alcohol.
