4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml brown bottle. Poured a chestnut brown colour with a small, tight creamy beige cap which seems to be constantly renewing itself from the centre of the glass. Aroma is fruity - banana notes, sweet, quite malty. Flavour is dark malt, again some fruitiness shows, apple and pear and banana notes. Finish is dry and yeasty. Carbonation is very even and soft, body is medium to full. Great dubbel.
11.2 ounce bottle. Pours a clear, very dark brown with an off-white head. I decanted the bottle and left some yeast in the bottle. The aroma is of Belgian esters, dark malt and alcohol. The flavor is of dark french pastry with a carbonation bite. This is a fine example of a Belgian Dubbel. Note that it does not have the prune/raisin/cocoa taste that most American imitators have. Well done! SloaneRanger (51) - - SEP 14, 2017
Kastanjan värinen lasissa. Tuoksu belgialaisittain aavistuksen hiivainen, mutta enemmän hedelmäinen ja taatelinen. Maussa taatelia ja karamellia. Aluksi hyvin happoinen, mutta tämä tasoittuu. vaagen (3) - - SEP 14, 2017 does not count
chocolate, raisin, leaves, brown to black, medium sweetness, medium to full body, creamy, soft carbonation, easy finish
Brilliant beer, simple in that it doesn't have any unpleasant side notes or alcoholic aftertaste ,yet complex in that it has a darkness and slightly hidden yeasty taste, you say its banana and fruity yet part of the fascination, is that i find it hard to tie down.
A beer that can take being drunk in larger amounts.
You might think it would be easy to copy, but as with most Belgian abbey beers, the simplicity is a show, they usualy always hide a small hint of complexity, that most larger or newer brewerys, utterly fail to reproduce. Rask0lnikov (1370) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 12, 2017
330ml bottle. Pours very dark briwn colour. Beautiful beige head stays. Fruitiness, chocolate, caramel, notes of candy sugar, slight sourness. Beautiful and rich aroma from belgium yeast. Notes of chocolate, caramel, slight tartness. Bitter, chocolate, bit sour finish. Really nice roast of the malts. Notes of candy sugar and cocoa in the aftertaste. Rather medium bodied, maybe bit thin, but well balanced, beautiful beer. Back to the basics. DonGregorio (475) - POLAND - SEP 9, 2017

zwykle nie pijam ale doceniam... ziemiste, rodzynkowe, ciasteczkowe, solidnie nagazowane z niezle ukrytym alkoholem. beermastersasho (87) - - SEP 4, 2017
Good Dubbel! When fresh - its a little bit boozy, as i remember. Balanced, fruity, raisins, hoppy, smooth. Maltz! Little bit sweet. CaskGuru85 (30) - Poznań, POLAND - SEP 3, 2017
Kolor ciemny, opalizujący. Duże wysycenie. W smaku przede wszystkim wyczuwalny alkohol. Piwo dobre, ale nie powalające ( chyba, że wypijemy parę :D ) JanHarm (8) - - SEP 2, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2017 Too much carbonation overwhelms the taste. I love beer but this is not for me Dal9000 (654) - Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2017
Sampled at 2017 Dayton Alefest-soft foamy taste with a hint of fruit (plums?) and a dry finish
