COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A reddish brown trappist ale, malty and fruit, featuring a 3 week secondary fermentation. This ale has a full, pale yellow head. The bouquet is full of esters and fruitiness. Notes of ripe banana predominate. The taste is fruity and slightly bitter, with a long, dry finish.

A fine Dubbel. Plenty of malt to please this malt-head. I read somewhere that the brewery is so busy that the monks do supervisorial duties only while secular workers do the real labor. I would love to sit in on a labor dispute negotiation.

Medium dry, plenty of caramel and a hint of bananas. Typical Belgian dubbel, but nonetheless delicious.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2017 Dark ruby, brown. Aroma a bit weak, malt a bit chocolate and ripe banana. Taste malty with some dried fruit and some bitterness at the end.

I bought this bottle the last year at Amstein. I drank it yesterday at Bonfol, just before the meal, best before 11/2017. In my own opinion, I clearly prefer this one than the tripel. It is a really good and tasteful beer, the best dubbel that I had until now. Firstly, the color is black and brown, opaque, white and brown foam, average carbonation. The taste and aromas are powerful like the Greek Zeus, the first sip is carbonated with nuts, the second and others sips develop strong aromas of William pear, malt, honey, some sugar but not that sweet, hop. The taste is well balanced, a perfect harmony, nuts, plum, amazing, to drink step by step, enjoying simply the life so short and unfair.

Kruidig, zwaardere dubbel, Zoet. Mooi blijvende schuimlaag. Krachtige dubbel die zich leent tot sippen, niet tot doordrinken. Prima.

Reddish brown colour with a beige foam. Medium bodied, lively carbonated. Pleasant fruity taste. Very fine example of a Belgian Dubbel. I'm starting to buy this beer more often.

Bottle from... Terno I believe? This is classic dubbel, nothing really you could object though through the times I have a feeling it has become more watery than it was. Still it's lovely experience and intro to heavy league of Belgium. Recommended.

Bought locally! This pours a cloudy dark brown with some orange hues and a +2 finger head of foam. The smell is fruity and spicy and malty. Overall, it's on the sweet side but nice. The taste is fruity, I get both sweet and bitter/tart notes. Light caramel malt sweetness here as well with some light spicing and a finish that is very dry. Makes me want to take another sip. Mouthfeel just creeps into medium territory while the carbonation is quite brisk. Also, head retention and lacing are top notch. Drinkability? It's an enjoyable session with the 1 bottle but now that I can buy it here in Casper, I'll be revisiting it often. A solid Belgian Dubbel.

Dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is yeasty spices brown sugar coriander molasses baked banana. Taste is bitter alcoholic yeast and bittersweet molasses. Heavy and still a bit watery. Not my thing.
