Rip Van Winkle Beer was originally brewed in the early 1900’s and dubbed "The Richest Bottle of Beer in the World." The new Rip is a malty bock beer as a turn of the century German would have brewed. Amazingly smooth for an 8% beer.

Nothing offensive, just extremely basic lacking any distinction, can’t believe this is very nearly 9%, I’m looking for a lot more interest from something which allows few servings ads135 (4933) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - OCT 29, 2013
This is one of the better beers from Weston. Mild, slightly sweet, decently balanced with some grassy hops. camborne (656) - Hopkins, Minnesota, USA - OCT 8, 2013
Sweet malty nose. Sweetness is strong in this one. Caramel and some roasted notes. Tad spicy on finish. Nothing special AbbeyRoade (549) - Missouri, USA - AUG 12, 2013
This beer is definitely very sweet smelling and has a sweet, malty taste. Deep reddish brown color and decent head with good lacing. I also taste roasted, caramel flavors as well. Decent beer with a slight bitter aftertaste. Nothing too special. Not terribly familiar with this style of beer either, so perhaps it is better/worse compared to the standard.
