COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

Dark, cloudy amber pour with a quarter inch head that appears to be ever so slightly beige. Boozy aroma wafts up after a swirl of my snifter, unleashing a barrage of dark fruits. Strong notes of prunes, raisins, figs, and candi sugar, with an undertone of earthy barley. Subtle hints of vanilla and oak as it warms, and definitely more than a suggestion of bourbon. Taste is warm and sweet, a robust body enveloping the tongue and coating the mouth for several minutes. Sweet and fruity up front, somewhat of a blast of booze flavor, but not too much alcohol heat. Vanilla and oak flavors are very pronounced, though the bourbon itself seems overwhelmed by the plethora of other flavors. The oak really comes through in the aftertaste left on the tongue, and I found myself taking several minutes between sips to truly appreciate the complexities. This is how a bourbon barrel quad should be done. Im not always easily impressed, but this beer elicited an audible "WOW" from my lips.

At Ollies. 11.8 % ABV. In a snifter. Big creamy malt up front. Then a whiskey bourbon middle with a brown sugar sweetness. Finishes with a plum tartness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Vinous plum, grape, malt and caramel nose. Cloudy brown, thin tan head. Toffee and candied plums, cherries airplane glue volatility on the edges. Whiskey finish. Full body, moderate carbonation, prickly, boozy. Complex and deep.

Bottle bought 7/2012 pours ruby red almost purple few heads. Light-medium body. Heated on impact then the vanilla and berries/plum come through before finishing with considerable heat. Alc IS noticeable. Really smooth for almost 12%. Impressive stuff. Wish I held on to it another 4 years.

Thanks perhaps in part to the high level of alcohol and quite a bit of age, Blasphemy was tasty enough to make me utter a few blasphemous phrases. Brownish red color. Fruity, toasty, and mildly funky aromas. Big note of red fruit and ribes in the flavor with a little tartness coming through. Alcohol is almost entirely hidden. Theres a bit of earthiness and some bread. This was the oldest Quad Ive had so far. I have to conclude that it was an intriguing and rewarding experience.

Bottle. A- Cranberry juice, oak, subtle whiskey, very subtle smoke. A- Red brown color, clear liquid, minimal tan head. T- Oak, whiskey, cranberry, cherry, subtle smoked malt. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- For being a 2.5 year old Quad I was shocked with how fruity and effervescent this beer was. Really easy to drink for 12% too. Quite tasty. I could drink a ton of this.

Pours a dark burgundy with a think khaki head that quickly dissipates. Lots of wood and whiskey on the nose with notes of toffee, raisins, prune with a heavy malt presence. The wood and whiskey attack your palate followed by flavors of raisins, dark fruits and caramel. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, medium viscosity. The wood gives you a lasting dry finish in the roof of your mouth and the alcohol is hot in the throat. The intro says that this is not overaged but my guess is that the whiskey barrels were freshly emptied since you have an aggressive whiskey presence. I am glad it is aggressive because it fits so well.

A nice quad overall. Pours a deep red-brown with a tan head. Smells of berries. Taste is berries, quite malty, with some creme and licorice. Had in the bottle.

A very unique quad. Tons of body and flavor. Pours medium brown with a thick frothy head. Favors are rich butter, buttermilk, milk chocolate, and chocolate malt. Warm, but not overpowering alcohol feel. Goes perfect with milk chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had a sample at WOBFest 2016. Another offering that I rushed to try first. Really good quad with tons of spice that is balanced out by the plum flavor nicely. Well done.
