Pours a dark amber with about two inches of frothy head. Smells of course of simcoe hops and some piney smells are there as well. Beautiful lacing sticks to the entire interior of the glass. Taste is refreshing and not overly bitter. The alcohol is nowhere to be found, but can be felt.
This has a creamy mouthfeel that leaves a very hoppy aftertaste. At 9%, it’s not a highly sessionable beer, but it tastes so good that you can’t put it down. Very happy that Weyerbacher recently announced that this will be a year round offering. This will be a regular staple in my fridge. Highly recommend. themadmumis (347) - Westminster, Maryland, USA - DEC 11, 2006
Wow! What a damn good imperial IPA! Very strong and distinct Hops that bring the hurt faster than expected. See commercial description for the specifics... this stuff is great. Enjoyed from the 22 oz. bottle... it was enough after a night of drinking. Wow! ford9719 (371) - Vilseck, GERMANY - DEC 10, 2006
Bottle. Thanks to jasonmech77. Poured a golden color. Had a hint of smoke to it. Very hoppy beer loved it. dkoonce (911) - People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA - DEC 9, 2006
Bottle. Cloudy grayish-brown, with a massive off-white head. The hop aroma is impressive, with a piney floral aroma that worries me a little. This beer is heavy, with a great malt sweetness that sort of balances the hops. The second sip is even better. The hops seem a bit less bitter and the beer seems smother and mellower. Tap: Pours a hazy orangey amber with thin off-white head. Nice sweetish toffeeish hoppy aroma. Has an overall grapefruit bitterness in the flavor, with a light sweet malt background. Slightly flowery with a subtle caramel sweetness. Nice brew.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a slightly hazy amber golden with a small, off-white head. Distinctly perfumy hoppiness in the aroma. Solid body with some caramel and then fat, somewhat soapy aroma hops leaving a distinct bitterness in the finish. 011206 Emil (6064) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 5, 2006

hazy orange body with tones of brown and red. light almond coloured head with nice lace. beautifully hopped nose - citrus and pine- very yummy and hop-oh-lishous. Citrus, floral and fresh grapefruit. rated at "uncle" carnevale’s house via laptop due to poweroutage at mi casa.
A hazy amber beer with a thin oof-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of hops and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops, alfa acids, and caramel, leading to a nicely bitter end. Nice.
