COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the gauntlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Buen trabajo! 355ml bottle. Pint glass. Revisited on agt12. Orangish amber. Chill haze. White, creamy, thick layer crown lasts until last drop. Foam looks rocky as meringue & leaves copious rings too. Citric orange & strong grapefruit- resiny & piney aromas. Hoppy attack at first sip is rounded by citric & tropical fruit notes, herbal & grassy hues as well. Standing up on line malts provide a firm toasted, kind of caramel flavor & feeling. Medium to full body. Soft carbonation. Oily, dense, texture. Increasing citric & pine counterattack in the middle toward the long sharp bitter finish. Ripe fruit on the aftertaste. Great & flavorful II IPA. Refreshing & delightful with exceptionally well hidden ABV. Good job!!.

Bottle. Sensoric. Deep amber, medium hazy, floaty with small to medium, semi-thick, white head. Poor head retention and nice lacing. Aroma is tropical fruits (mango, papaya), resinous, also some moderately noticeable citrus notes (first of all oranges with some grapefruit). Malts are clear - biscuity and bread. Taste is medium to high bitter thru the whole time, perfectly balanced with malts. Full body, creamy texture, average carbonation, finish is sticky, bitter and fruity. Refreshing, ABV is well hidden, which makes it even more drinkable, powerful and dangerous. In general this was one of my first US breweries that Ive tasted (next to Flying Dog and Andersons Valley), still have old school Weyerbacher in my cellar, so this rating could be a little bit objective, but this beer definitely rocks in its powerful bitter taste. Afters few years Ive tasted similar beer from ToOl SHOCK series: !!!PA Simcoe Mosaic !!!

Many bottles and taps, Draft at P house, clear copper orange with small white head. Notes of sticky pineapple, malt, sugar, bitter pine, and other orange skin fruit. This used to be one of my favorite ipas when i got into the game but after drinking clean juices like boat, old man hill hops, and good cali stuff its impossible to go back to these boozy, sticky, and sweet hoppy offerings.

Zakupione w Dyspensie, Radom. No podwojny chmiel Simcoe wali po nosie konkretnie.

Tastes like itd been aged in bourbon barrels. Bit on the heavier side for my personal taste for DIPA. Couldnt drink too many of these..and i enjoy some DIPAs

From notes (10/16/15). Pretty straightforward, slightly under-inspired DIPA. Lots of pine and not much fruit from the Simcoe. Not bad, though.

This is a glass of 2003--an amber colored, super bitter, super sweet IPA. It smells like a pine forest complete w/ a damp pad of pine needles and earth underfoot and tastes like hopped malt extract. It is big and syrupy on the palate w/ a bit of alcohol burn to it. This is really typical of everything wrong w/ the giant IPAs of decades past and Im glad most brewers have moved on.

Bottle. Hazy dark orange with small foamy beige head, strong citrus peel aroma, low carbonation, sweetish start followed by bitter citrus peel taste, thickish body, medium bitter finish. The expiration date had passed, and it felt a bit too bitter. I am not sure whether it was because of that though.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, it seems best before March 4, 2016, oops. Opaque reddish medium brown with small beige head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, lower carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is herbal hops, caramel malt, resin, and bitter finish.

Tap at whole foods Auburn Hills. Pours deep honey spiked with melted caramel. Off white head. Aroma is big pine, resin, tropical pineapple, slight orange and grapefruit biscuit malt, dank hops. Wow, this feels like a West coast double to me. Kinda like a knee deep sorta deal almost. Flavor is pine, resin, malt, sugar sweetness from the high abv, pineapple, grapefruit. Wow, really really good.

Hazy reddish amber pour, smallish thick head. Nose is caramel, pine, vague citrus. Very caramelly sweet, moderate bitterness. Lowish carbonation .
