3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a slightly opaque brown color with a tan head. Some retention and no lace. Aroma was okay, hints of bread and candied-sugar. Some dark fruits and a mild banana note. Alcohol presence was a little over the top. Flavor seemed to be more sweet than anything else. Some wheat notes and some fruity esters, but that were dominated by a almost cloyingly sweet presence. Alcohol was too high. I like higher ABV beers, but with this beer it seemed off.
Murky brown/dark umber color with a thinner lid of beige bubbles. Aromas of toasted wheat, darker fruit, cloves, esters, yeast and hints of five spice. Smooth oily feel. Wheat, light citrus, mild spice and dark dried fruits in the flavors. Alcohol is well hidden in the flavor, but I do detect some heat on the back of the throat. Earth and bubblegum wander about. Rivals some icebocks. 8/13

A bottle purchased today but cellared for some some time by the retailer. Dark brown color. Carbonation is low, with some age on this beer that is no surprise. Sweet malt aroma, and initially an abrasive alcohol flavor followed by sweet mat, some dried fruit banana, and pear. Alcohol affects the palate, this beer is hot, but flavor is good after the palate becomes accustomed to the heat. sonnycheeba (5988) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Bottle at Black & Blue. Pours dark brown. Aroma is huge caramel, toffee, and vanilla notes with some bready malts, plums, black cherries, and faint booze. Flavor is rich and malty with lots of caramel/toffee and dark fruit notes along with some soft lager yeast esters and plenty of spicy booze. Full body. snoworsummer (5697) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 26, 2016
From a bottle. Pours opaque dark brown with a thin, fizzy tan head. Tastes like dried dark fruits, smooth booze, raisin, and earthy malt with some chocolate notes. Very smooth and mellow. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like dried dark fruits, raisin, and earthy malt with chocolate. egajdzis (6589) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 16, 2016
Hazy dark brown color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, nuts, banana, clove, some oxidation, dark fruits, and alcohol. Taste of caramel, nuts, wheat, banana, clove, fruits, and boozy finish.

12 oz bottle at home. Pours a dark brown color with reddish highlights and a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark wheat malts, dark fruits, chocolate, a splash of caramel, banana, mild spices, does a decent job hiding the abv. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 26, 2016
Pours a crisp cola brown color. Aromas of clove, banana, fruit, and alcohol. Flavor is alcoholic clove and spice with a bittersweet finish. Good beer! Rumbero (85) - Miami, Florida, USA - JAN 29, 2016
This is a 2 1/2 year old brew. But has aged surprisingly well. Really an Imperial Weizenbock so I thought I’d age. Aroma is a stronger version of what you’d expect from this style. Its a stronger version of bananas and clove, slightly sweeter, maybe some honey. Its hazy and there’s more sediment than before. But the flavor is still solid. Carbonation almost gone. Banana flavor is there combined with some dark fruit. Alcohol is present in mouthfeel and flavor and lingers past finish. A big but enjoyable beer for sure. rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 19, 2015
Bottle. Deep brown with minimal head. Sweet, fruity aroma. Sweet with brown sugar and some rum notes. Boozy and warming. Not terrible, but not really what I’m looking for in a weizenbock. Worsenma (74) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - JUL 30, 2015
Pretty strong alcohol bite. Little to no carbonation. Not bad but was really hoping for more.
