COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally released in June 2016 as our 21st Anniversary, this big stout is brewed with Munich malts, smoked malts, cocoa nibs, cocoa powder and vanilla. Rolling in at 13.5% ABV, Finally Legal has rich chocolate flavor with hints of vanilla and a touch of smoky bacon. As if that’s not enough, we blended this tasty brew with its bourbon barrel aged counterpart before packaging it for your enjoyment.

2017/11/12 - Pours jet black with a foamy, khaki head that quickly reduces and leaves no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, smoke, dates, banana, soy and butterscotch. Mild hint if acetone? Taste is smoke, hot bourbon, wood, cocoa, vanilla, dates, licorice, roast and butterscotch. Mouthfeel is medium and oily with low carbonation and a smokey, hot booze finish. Lots going on....mostly good things. Pretty good overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Beers of the World. Aroma of vanilla, smoke, cocoa, and alcohol. Ruined by a terribly thin palate and extremely distasteful metallic finish. Maybe a bad bottle.

Pours black, brown with a nice one-finger tan head with an aroma of wood, coffee and malt. Tastes of sweet caramel, butterscotch, chocolate and vanilla with a moderately bitter finish and moderate to strong alcohol. It’s full bodied with minimal carbonation. It’s slick and viscous. Clearly it’s bourbon barrel aged.

12 ounce bottle. Dark brown, thin ring of tan head, fair retention. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, leather, piney hops. It even smells chewy. The taste is plum, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, oak. Medium-full bodied, chewy, booze well integrated. Nice beer. HI THERE KALEB!

Bottle. Pours black with a small light brown head. Heavily malty aroma with cocoa notes. Somewhat sweet flavor with heavy chocolate notes and a touch of vanilla. A bit of smokiness. Full bodied. Very good.

Dark brown pour with light cocoa head. Aroma is initially cocoa (powder) and vanilla. Sweet, yet with a hint of savory underneath. The smoke is a touch harsher than I’d like, and IMO takes away from the otherwise decadent nose and flavor. Still a good beer, just not great. Warms up nicely, and hides the abv dangerously well.

6/13/17. On tap at Craft on Draft. Black pour with a nice tan head. Mildly smoky aroma, savory, roasted malts. Lightly savory, almost salty, flavor, smoky, coffee, roasted malts, caramel. Not awful.

It pours black, but not opaque. It has a brown head with very low head retention. It has aromas chocolate, roast, smoked malts, and some bourbon. There are also hints of vanilla and cocoa. There are low background notes of dark fruits. It has flavors of smoke and bacon, roast, and chocolate. There are secondary elements of bourbon and sweetness. It has a slightly spicy hop element and hints of vanilla. It has a full body, almost chewy with a moderately bitter aftertaste and strong alcohol warming, but not hot. Overall a wonderful blend of chocolate, roast, and smoked malts with a pleasant alcohol warming and a complex blend of other elements make this a thoroughly enjoyable beer.
