COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hotel is an Imperial Porter of 8.2% strength, brewed with ale yeast (so its not a Baltic Porter, technically). Silky smooth and nicely balanced, this beer can only be found in bottles at the brewery on Saturdays, beginning December 12, as long as supplies last. We have just over 60 cases and don’t expect them to last more than 2 or 3 weeks. In draft, we filled 65 half kegs which will be going to markets in PA, OH, MD, MA, and FL.

Opaque black beer, no head. Smooth semi soft palate. Trace amount of carbonation. Dark malt, subtle marmite and coffee. Minerals. A little malt cream. Neutral finish. Not bad.

Thanks Tom for passing this 12oz bottle on my way! Poured a dark, deep brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, some earthiness, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes of roast, the same earthiness, bitter chocolate, licorice, and some nuttiness.

Bottle... Mostly clear, very dark ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. When held up to light, a crimson hue is revealed. Nutty, chocolaty bouquet with a splash of tawny port. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. Good balance. Crisp, chocolaty, bittersweet flavor. Finishes more bitter than sweet with a kiss of mocha. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

Tap at oldsmar taphouse. Dark brown. Tan head. Aroma is sweet with chocolate and toffee. Flavor is smooth and a bit sweet. Chocolate, molasses, and malt balls. Damn good.

DocLock (10702) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Draft. Pours deep brown with off tan head. Nose was dark malt, dark choc, slight rauch, some molasses. Tastes rich, complex, with solid dark malt, chocoff, earthy, and dark fruity flavors. Well balanced and rich, this one is nice, and goes well with an Oliva Series V cigar.

Tap at OTH. Pours dark brown, mocha head. Aroma dark malts, hints of chocolate/mocha, caramel. Flavor, Intense chocolate/caramel malts, giving this one a lactose like palate. Lightly nutty followed by warming abv and hints of dark chocolate bitterness and a nice roasty finish. This is one tasty treat.

Tap. Pours a super deep ruby with a one finger thick tan nitro looking head. Not much lace. Smoke, licorice, firewood, cognac, oak in the nose. Taste is very sweet with milk chocolate, baker’s chocolate, loads of toasted coconut, and then really smooth cognac. Oily mouthfeel. Sweet and milkshake-like. Awesome.

12 ounce bottle shared by footbalm, thanks Eric. Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. A sweet milky aroma, light hops and chocolates. The flavor is initially a hoppy porter, pine and earthy notes, later a more milky sweet chocolate flavor dominates. Sweet and tasty. Nice.

drowland (8758) - Georgia, USA - JUL 31, 2012
7/30/12. On tap at Kickbacks - vintage 2010. Rich black pour with a nice tan head that sticks and laces well. Rich roasted coffee and dark chocolate on the aroma with touches of acidic dark malt sourness. Rich dark and milk chocolate flavor with lingering coffee and roastiness. This is surprisingly good - maybe the aging?
