COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with Pumpkin and Spices(Cinnamon,Nutmeg,Cardamom,Cloves). This 8.0% ABV pumpkin ale is heartier, spicier, and more caramelly and pumpkiny than its faint brethren! Perfect finisher on a cool autumn night, or match it up with a slice of pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream. If you don't agree this is the mother of all pumpkin ales, then you just don't like mothers!

(12 oz. bottle into pint glass) Pours a murky dark orange with a one finger head that fell quickly with little to no lacing. Aroma is heavy of the pumpkin and what can best be described as mulling spices. It’s very smooth on the tongue and very creamy, almost like pumpkin pie. The kick of spice is a pleasant surprise compared to some more overly sweet pumpkin ales I’ve tried. Definitely one of the top contenders in this heavily populated seasonal style.

Very good pumpkin beer. Probably best I’ve had other than southern tiers pumking. Aroma is of pumpkin pie. Only negative is there was a lot of sediment. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I really like this. The aroma is like a seasonal scented candle. It tastes just how you expect; like drinking a piece of pumpkin pie.

12oz bottle. Clear amber with minimal head. The pumpkin flavor is in there, though the cinnamon and nutmeg spices are what make this good. Nicely balanced with a spicy, warming finish. If you're gonna drink a pumpkin beer it might as well be a good one.

Maybe I got a bad batch but this was not good. I used clean glasses but it poured with 0 head at all. It was like drinking a flat pumpkin soda. 3 of us all had a bottle at the same time and had the same reaction. It was surprise because one of the stockers at the beer distributor recommended this as his favorite pumpkin.

Treated as an imperial ale, this was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a ruddy burnt amber to orange color with no head or lace. The aroma starts off semi-sweet pumpkin fleshiness hitting against subtle spices of allspice, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves; well balanced. The flavor leans somewhat spicy with a gentle sweetness underneath. Sweet pumpkin flesh rides into the aftertaste and quickly hits the finish, that ends up being slightly spicy - just a little bit. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable to sipping quality sticking to my tongue appropriately. Spices create enough harshness but gentle enough. Overall, damn nice imperial pumpkin ale that i would love to have again. Thanks Rich C.

DATE: October 7, 2016... OCCASION: made it through another week of school... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter...pours a dark amber, almost mahogany body with a busy, bubbly body that cannot sustain the fizzy, off-white head--a placid surface collects the occasional bubble, but the alcohol halts any impressive froth... BIG, powerful cinnamon, caramel, gingerbread and nutmeg promise BIG things in the profile... some hops also wrapped with a breath of alcohol... a medium-bodied, oily, bourbon-evoking draw... the profile is profoundly ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg--a dessert in and of itself... outstanding, strong, and worth the price tag.... another strong Weyerbacher product that seems bigger than its 8% ABV... right up there with other high ABV pumpkin ales...

aged 3+ years - pours deep amber with an initially full off white head but it disappears quickly. visible sediment. aromas are full of the expected spices and strong pumpkin. some honey-like aroma might be due to oxydation. caramelly sweet flavors with expected pumpkin but the spices not quite as prominent as in aroma. very light carbonation but not flat. oily and rich texture with med to full body. what’s left of the bitterness lingers along the pumpkin flavors in the aftertaste.

12 ounce bottle. Toasted amber in color. I taste the pumpkin, cardamom, cloves, and a little nutmeg. Detect a touch of black pepper. Mouthful could be heavier. Smooth on the palate. Overall this a very enjoyable pumpkin ale.
