3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at redlight redlight. Pungent and rich malty nose with hints of dark fruit, though it is a little hairy, which I don’t really care for. Good cloudy amber with a nice creamy, off-white head. The flavor is not what I expected. Though more subdued than I anticipated, I’m really pleasantly surprised: slightly nutty with a semi-sweet malt finish. Also smoother than i expected. Not bad at all.
The beer pours a reddish-caramel color with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of toffee and raisin notes up front. As the beer warms I start to get more dark fruit and cherries in the aroma, as well as some brown sugar-like sweetness. The flavor is more complex. I get some nice spices, with cinnamon really coming through strongly. I also get some toffee and caramel, as well as some cherries, raisins and other dark fruit. Once again the brown sugary sweetness comes through nicely, as does a hint of alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. drowland (8888) - Georgia, USA - JUN 4, 2012
6/4/12. On tap. Brown pour with a nice head. Surprisingly tart and somewhat funky aroma with bits of dark fruits, sugar, and maltiness. Malty and yeasty flavor, again with bits of tartness. Not too shabby. mar (5434) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 24, 2011

Taste of banana extract, bitter, alcohol, a bit nutty, brown sugar, and a bitter linger that I actually enjoyed. Sweet cocoa on the palate finish as well. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - AUG 9, 2011

On draft at Capones. Pours a deep maple amber color with a creamy medium sized light beige head. Aroma of cloves, banana and Belgian yeast. Taste is much the same as the aroma with a malty backbone. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 22, 2011
