On tap at Uno’s Hamilton. Maybe it was a bad batch, but this beer was disgusting. It literally reminded me of vomit at certain points.
Dark amber, clear, lasting tan head
Sweet but refreshing nose.
Full body, dense flavor, silky, sticky texture, hot mouthfeel, average length.
Very sweet but nicely balanced by bitterness and alcohol.
Caramel sauce, hoppy in the background.
Massive, great way to finish a meal.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a murky garnet color with a small creamy beige head. Rich stone fruit aroma is sweet and complex. Sweet dark dried fruit leads off this intensely flavored Quad. Notes of apricot, raisins, plums and sweet cherries. Big warming alcohol and medicinal notes. Complex, yet unrefined. Aroma is banana, raisin, clove, spices, booze, wood, dark fruit. Appearance is red brown, light tan head, bubbly, hazy. Taste is banana crazy, clove, raisins, dark fruit, woody, booze, harsh. Pours a nice plum shade with thin tan head that disappears immediately leaving just a bit of lace and skim.
Aroma is dark fruit, figs, raisins, cherries. Palate follows suit with the addition of malt, caramel, toast, cereal. Serious stuff, though the body is not as fort as I expected. That actually helps the drinkability, but given the complexity, especially as this warms, Quad is one for sipping.
I noticed the 11.9 percent ABV, though the alcohol did not overpower the flavors. A well-done American approximation of a Belgian quad, this is one to savor on a cold evening. DocJitsu (1978) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - JAN 11, 2017
Pours a murky bourbon with a short, antique white head. Subtle tartness on the nose with aromas banana, bubble gum, and very faint clove. Moderately aggressive on the palate. Bubble gum flavor triumphs. Moderately dry throughout, but becomes even drier at the finish.

Pours a cloudy reddish brown with no head. Cherry/stone fruit, spices dominate aroma. Sharp taste up front of spices. Fair bit of bitterness fades into sweetness. Rich toffee malts, a bit candy like.
