750 ml corked and caged bottled. Vintage 2016. Hazy garnet red color. Small creamy beige head. Big raspberry sour malt nose. Tangy berry, vinegar flavor upfront. Notes of wood and sour fruit. Mouth puckering. Sip this slowly and enjoy the complex, yeasty, tart, Eastern Pennsylvanian nuances. Sweet!

Bottle. Pours cloudy reddish amber with small foamy off-white head, funky raspberry aroma, high carbonation, tart berry taste with strong Brett and woodsy flavor, thin body, long tart finish. Complex and enjoyable.

Lots of natural raspberry here. Aroma’s raspberry of course burnt toast and a little perfume. Flavor’s like nose, massive raspberry fairly dry, more tart with just the barest hint of sweet and some bitter.

Aroma is bad fruit. Taste is odd, there’s definitely raspberry flavor there, but without any of the brightness or sweetness one would associate with raspberries. There’s also an odd, almost garbage flavor, like produce that’s gone bad or something. Some tartness as well, as would be expected for the style. I don’t hate it, but I won’t buy it again.

2012 version. Pours dark amberred, no real foam. Smell is milksourbacteria, oak, fruityness. Taste is intense sour ( milksour) strog oak aspects. Rather intense fruityness. Nice and intense, but not a very complex selection of bacteria, nor a balanced sourness.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours clear reddish amber with a thin off-white head. Nose consists of malt, raspberry and funk. Malty flavor giving way to sweet raspberry before a nicely sour finish.

Slightly hazy burnt caramel colored beer with a distinct pinkish hue and a thin white head that is not much more than a surface film. Nose of sour raspberry, kandi sugar, and rose water. Flavor is quite a bit drier than the aroma with a puckering sourness overlaid with the essence of raspberry without any of the sweetness and a palate-coating wood resin that is hard to detect through the other bright flavors. I finished the entire glass in the time it took to write this which is a testament to how good this beer is.
