The ChrisO small midweek tasting. Opaque dark brown beer. Light crisp palate. Barrel aged bourbon sweetness contrasts with a sour edge. A little brett. Crisp finish. All right.
Bottle at a ChrisO tasting, London. Pours black-brown with a large, tan foam head. Good sourness on the nose, some ripe berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with dark malts, dirt and background roast. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderate tartness at the end, light dirt, soft cocoa. Pretty nice, interesting. Säuerlicher, wenig herber Beginn. Laff, geringe Intensität. Leicht röstig, weich. Stimmig aber zu mild. 10/10/9/9/8/9 Theydon_Bois (20437) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2012
Bottle at Chriso - 25/09/12.
Very dark brown in colouration with a good sized frothy tan head.
Tarte cherries on the nose allied to a little wood and sour dark berry fruits.
Taste follows, brett tones, more sour fruits and a pinch of spice.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. I enjoyed this one.

Black pour with a khaki head. Smells a bit like licorice with some balsamic vinegar sourness, oak, chalk, and wine. A fair amount of roast, some raisin, char, and burnt sugar. Strange flavor. Somewhat sweet with burnt sugar, licorice, and molasses sweetness. Balsamic vinegar sourness, a bit of wood, somewhat chalky, and a mild wine flavor. Some dark fruit notes of raisin, dates, and grape. The finish is very dry. Scopey (15431) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 30, 2012
Bottle thanks to Bill at ChrisO. It pours very dark brown, with thin-medium full beige head. The nose is sour, light roasted malt, balsamic vinegar, toasted coconut, marzipan and some acidity. The taste is roasted malt, sour lemon, oak, vinous, faint caramel, grapefruit and subtle balsamic vinegar, with a lightly sour finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and soft mouth-feel. No real complexity. Fairly inoffensive stuff. djd07 (15330) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 12, 2015
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is funk and roast. Thin mouthfeel with light roast, nice tart finish, lingering brett, very good. bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 18, 2012
