750 ml corked bottle. An opaque black beer, with a large, frothy, lightly lacing, mostly lasting, brown head. The aroma is moderately to heavily malty (roasted grain, molasses, chocolate), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of blueberry, alcohol, hint of vanilla and dried fruits. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, creamy/syrupy texture, soft carbonation, very long finish with moderate bitterness, moderately alcoholic. I had average expectrations on this beer, but it really outwent them. Outstanding aroma and appearence, on the sweet side, but with enouigh final bitterness. Lightly syrupy/sticky, but overall creamy with a lot of chocolate and even some berries. The only minus is the price...

12 ounce bottle. Opaque black color. Small creamy tan head. Big roasted malt nose is redolent of molasses and dark dried fruit. Flavor follows nose with notes of prunes, chocolate and treacle. Intense and rich, with a viscous mouthfeel. Sip this slowly to reveal the luscious, complex layers. Big and bold is an understatement. At just under 12% ABV, be careful out there.

Bottle at home (bottled 03/06/15). Pours dark with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, spicy yeasty, alcohol, dark fruits, liquorice, roasted malts, sweetness towards the end. Taste is over moderate bitter, light to moderate sweet, creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation, long roasted bitter aftertaste, warming alcohol. Nice.

Opaque, dark brown color, ephemeral, micro-bubble brown head. Full body, very flavorful, smooth texture, rich, very hot but not very carbonated mouthfeel, long aftertaste with tasty finish. Moderately bitter, off-dry, tart. Intense dark roast coffee, tar, vanilla essence, coke. Very good but not the best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow. This is tasty. Bottle from andersons. Would do again in no doubt, but more of a beer at a time kind of beer. Nose is complex with caramel, cereal, roasty, floral, dough, smoke, and fruit. Body largely follows. Hides the % well after the first sip. The belgian influence on an imperial stout is a great idea and one I didnt expect. Only get hints here and there, but wow, its good.

12 oz bottle with a bottling date of 30 April 2015 and a BB date of 30 April 2017 in a Belgian snifter on 11 Dec. 2016. Pours, thick, essentially black, opaque, and with minimal signs of carbonation. Virtually no head or lacing. The aroma seems a bit off, even for the Belgian style: its quite mossy and earthy, with hints of fresh cut wood and black licorice. This characterization only partially carries over to the far more appealing flavor. Some molasses, burnt grain notes and light spicing. Overall: interesting and more than drinkable, but still disappointing, especially from Weyerbacher.
