Cloudy amber color, with big frothy head. Strong aroma, fruity hops in the front, bitter oranges, and then some cheesy yeast. Malt flavor, some caramel, too much yeast; strong bitterness, but also final astringency from the yeast.
Powerful but too rough.
750 bottle from 2012 Winter Secret Santa. Hazy and muddy. Not a big hop presence. Slightly malty and sweet. Pleasant. New or aged bottle? porkdiggity (109) - Ohio, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Bottle. Pours a nice hazy amber color. Lots of carbonation, with a thick white head. Piney, slightly floral aroma. Tastes much as it smells, very piney with a touch of earthiness. Goes down smooth, with a touch of bitterness and dryness in the finish, with some alcohol warmth. Not nearly as hoppy as I might have expected initially, though the flavor builds up. Pretty good brew, especially for a single hop type.

Visible sediment in a very hazy pour. This beer had strong hops, but was not very smooth. Strong pine aftertaste. Rightcross55 (72) - Keller, Texas, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Pours cloudy copper with a thick foamy head and thick lacing. Aroma of pine. Initial flavor is hop heavy, but did not develop as much as expected. Lingering aftertaste of light bitter hops.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2013 This is a unique brew! They are right the first sip is full of bubbles. Lots of carbonation in this one (it dies down as the beer sits, thank god!) Heavy resin & citrus in the aromatics. Taste (after the carbonation) has a slightly botanic bitterness that gets stronger but quickly tappers off into a rolling sweetness. I don’t pick out any real particular tastes but the ones I do are an acetic/vinegary orange + pine herbalness... Kind of weird, lots of "resin" and citrus. Palate is thick and lively. Overall, I like and would love to try the filtered version! TheJester (2543) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 27, 2012
750 mL bottle. Hazy orange-gold with a small white head. Nothing special to look at. The aroma improves the experience, bringing a pineapple fruitiness along with citrus (grapefruit) and caramel. The flavour is where this one shines, carrying over all of the aspects of the aroma, and filling them out. A little sweet. Full body. Light carbonation. This would be an interesting one with which to do a vertical. kingstoni (2155) - FINLAND - SEP 17, 2012
Bottle. Hazy amber color. Beige head with lacing. Quite a lot of visible yeast (?) at the bottom of glass. Strong aroma of fruity hops. Slightly sour taste of hops. Bitter finish.
