(draught at Festival der Bierkulturen 2010, Köln) Dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a beige and short foamy head. Roasty malty aroma with notes of cacao, caramel, vanilla and a light touch of raspberries. Roast-bitter and slightly sour-fruity taste, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasty malt-character with distinctive notes of raspberries, accompanied by notes of chocolate; dry mouthfeel; bitter and slightly sour-fruity finish. 16.V.10 Hergee (35) - Hasselt, BELGIUM - SEP 30, 2011
Dark watery appearance, no foam. Aroma and taste are light, nothing special. Roasted malts are not evident. Not cool at all. fiulijn (21506) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2011
Draught at Café Abseits, BambergKoelschtrinker (22074) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 2, 2011
Very dark color, almost black. Aroma of chocolate, sourness, strong wood character, light balsamic vinegar, but not much fruits; very light cheesy yeast too. Soft mouthfeel; chocolate flavor, quite dry mouthfeel, delicate berry fruitness, pleasant and delicate vanilla from the oak. Great.

Bottle. Very dark brown, slight red tint, pretty much opaque. Scant head. Aroma is not bad. The raspberry is natural with some residual tartness. Tartness is up front, and not just from the fruit. The roast is nice. But the palate is fizzy and the tartness is not welcome here. Oakes (19370) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 1, 2011
Bottle, from the gift shop. Dark brown. The aroma has a fresh raspberry note. Tart palate with lots of chocolate character. In a fruit beer, such tartness makes sense - this is a fun brew. Probably too much tartness for overall balance, but one of the tastier Weyermanns. pivnizub (10906) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 10, 2010

der Bierkulturen, Cologne: Deep ruby amber coloured, solid fruity (raspberries) and (roast-)malty nose; moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; same flavours show up in the lingering dryish finish with a little acidity in the aftertaste. Fine sample.....
Tap @ Festival der Bierkulturen. I was told that this was not really a brewer, but a provider of malts who brew’s beer in order to make sure the malts are ok. I had the porter and the smoked. The porter poured amber-brown. Notes of vanilla, chocolate and some roasted aspects in the nose. Taste was roasted malts, chocolate, a bit nutty with a fare amount of toffee. Some vanilla rounded it out well. The mouth was a bit thin however. I was hoping for something a bit more "chewy." Still, was very cool to have. fonefan (52351) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUN 1, 2010
Draught @ Festival der Bierkulturen, Bürgerzentrum Ehrenfeld, Venloer Str. 429, Cologne, Germany.
Clear dark red - black brown color with a large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, raspberry, port, dark roasted malt. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, oak, raspberry. Body is medium, texture is oily and smooth, carbonation is soft. Very easy to drink nice sweet and malt bitter, may be a bit thin in mouth feel ;O)
