Lovely caramelly aroma, even more full dark caramelly taste. Soft palate, carbonation low. Hobs just a little herbal, and subtly bitter. Very solid bitter, nicely full. Great way to start the day as part of a balanced breakfast alongside a full English!
Cask at JDW WIQ, London. It pours a clean amber color with a small white head. Aroma is semi-sweet with notes of caramel, toffee, dried fruits, vanilla. Taste is lightly crispy and sweet, with notes of caramel, dried leaves and biscuits. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, too sweet me thinks BlackHaddock (7583) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2015
17th Feb 2015: cask pint in Montgomery Towers, Shrewsbury. Deep brown with a red hue, off-white head that hung around. Dark berries and malty, dry bitter finish. OK, could have been in better condition, but overall not bad at all. jmgreenuk (9864) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - FEB 12, 2015

Cask hand pull at Eight Bells jdw Dover. Some milk chocolate some finishing hop sting. Not great condition but the flavour is quite attractive. tombyars (1749) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 4, 2015
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in the 31st January 2014. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque teak in colour with a thick creamy buff head. Malty aroma with notes of fresh green apple present. Creamy smooth mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive biscuit base with apple fruit again present. Very tart bitter aftertaste gives a robust oak cask note evident in the mouth. Finish is slightly malty with notes of stewed apple. A poor session bitter, lacking in flavour and body.
