UPDATED: SEP 23, 2009 Bottle. 5%. Hazy orange pour, very cloudy, with a frothy white head, decent retention. Aroma is bananas, oranges, and cloves. Taste is grainy, but sweet and smooth with a hint of banana in the finish. Absolutely superb. A great Canadian weissbier.

Pale cloudy amber/ sour citrus when you smell it/ unremarkable.
But since haikus are too short a review, we’ll get into it. there’s no real complexity here, just a vague sourness that promises more but never delivers, like the ads for comedy based on an SNL sketch.
Not gonna travel far for this one. BillKismet (4041) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 12, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2008 Mildly cloudy blonde with wheaty cream head. Appealing clove and wheat flavors. Piquant, refreshing flavors of wheat and clove that walk the line between German Wheat and Belgian Witt. Subtle yeastiness. Impressively crisp and piquant. A flavorful, sessionable wheat beer that deserves to be on more taplists. CapFlu (5126) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2008
(Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2008 in Victoria, September 2008. Tart, Clamato. Strange, tonic. Not what I expected from a hefeweizen. Poor. 5/3/3/1/8 DuffMan (10267) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 26, 2008
Cloudy lemony yellow, thick dense white head displaying excellent retention and leaving thick lace down the whole glass. Very robust clove spice, soft banana, and musty yeast aroma. Heavily phenolic palate with the spiciness taking center stage, a creamy banana smoothness rounding it out, and a nice tart finish. Possibly the best Canadian-made hefe I’ve had, (along with Tree Brewing’s limited release)!

german style bananay aroma and light spice taste. yellowish color with a decently foamy head. Bradrcr (806) - Renton, Washington, USA - JUL 21, 2008
7/9/08 On draught at FX McRory’s, Seattle, Wa. Aroma has strong placticy/clovey phenols followed by muted banana yeast and low sweetness. Aroma is hazy straw with a well maintained white head and good lacing. Flavor is Clove/pepper phenols forward, balanced by lightly creamy non-sweet banana and medium bittering. There’s a lot going on here, you have to hold it on your tongue to get it all. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lingering pepper, a strong spritzy carb texture and good creaminess. Overall, great complexity, and while the plastics are strong in the aroma, the sweet flavor balances it extremely well. jonas (7549) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - JUL 8, 2008
bottle. Neon cloudy yellow, low white head. Candyish clove nose. Dry clove notes dominate the flavor, sugary sweetness, dry finish and spicy light almondy aftertaste. light but chewy body. Definitely not the worst rendition of a hefeweizen I had. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 3, 2008
Purchased 4 in a mixed Whistler 12 pack for the office. Even a card inside the box telling you how to pour an unfiltered wheat beer. The liquid was a little pale before the yeast was added. Big white head. Banana and light clove scent with a strong sharp chemical background. Flavour is chalky orange with a chemical bitterness.
