Draft. Black color, fluffy brown head. Aroma of cocoa powder. Taste is very bitter coffee. Leighton (21231) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2014
Bottle shared by Mike in NYC (summer 2013). Pours black-brown with a frothy, off-white head. Pretty classic CDA nose, a nice mix of roasted malts, somewhat juicy citrus fruits and toasted pine. Medium sweet flavor with nice burnt earth and roast, some oily pine, grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Well balanced on the finish with a bit of piney resin, further citrus, grapefruit, some baking cocoa roast. Solid. One of the better White Birch beers I’ve had. jtclockwork (16561) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 21, 2013

22 oz bottle. Bottled Fall 2014. (Blue Max Liquors) Burnsville, MN.arminjewell (9635) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 28, 2015
Dark reddish brown... almost black color with a thick creamy light brown head.
Sweet roasted malt, chocolate, mild coffee, some hops and mild bitterness in the aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, mild hops, mild bitterness and some oily notes. I’m not sure what’s left of the hops but still quite balanced and tasty brew.
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of brownie, toffee, dark fruit, cocoa powder, slight anise, touch of vanilla, slight pine and spice. Taste is a mix of dark fruit, toffee, mint, some pine into some cocoa, slight roast, touch of brown sugar, finishing slightly sweet, bitter. b3shine (8864) - Indiana, USA - OCT 21, 2013
Bomber to tulip (shared by Brigadier). Looks good; a fairly opaque dark cola with beige lacing. Smells of dark malt, dark chocolate, hops, and roast. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Good beer.
