1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 1/20
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2014 Bottle #224 of 252, Batch PN2: Thanks, Jeff! Muddled yellow body, hazy & topped with a soapy, flimsy, fading white film. Aroma is like a damp, moldy, musty Berliner with must grains, damp mold, & faint lemony sourness. A hint of wood, perhaps, but not a huge barrel presence. Taste is full of sour must, lemon, damp grains, & probably one of the most strange aftertastes I’ve come across... Mouth is left coated with flavors of paint thinner & heavy fusel alcohol. Yuck... Not terrible up until that point. The aftertaste is awful, though... Makes you dread successive sips. Dry, bad aftertaste.
750ml bottle thanks to Toby #185. Pours out pale straw color topped with a white head. Nose has spice some cardboard lemon Citrus notes some grass and Barrel notes. Taste is more of the cardboard some pale malts and little bit of fruit and some wood. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 15, 2014

Bottle: The aroma consists of fruit, vanilla, yeast, lemon, and a touch of white wine. It pours a mostly transparent dull yellow with a touch of haze. It has a small white head that quickly fades to a thing ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of fruit and yeast. The finish has sour lemon, vanilla extract, white wine, and cardboard. It’s medium bodied with lively carbonation and a borderline prickly mouthfeel. Overall, this doesn’t smell too bad but the flavor is pretty rough.
750 ml bottle from michael-pollack- thanks again, Pollack! Batch PN6, bottle 128/252, 10.5% ABV. Pours a hazy straw yellow-gold color with a big frothy white head that settles quickly. Notes of oak, lots of bread, coriander and other spices, lemon citrus, vanilla, cream, and sugar. Medium-bodied, with mild carbonation and a sweet, doughy mouthfeel. Not bad. johnnnniee (4403) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 3, 2012

Pours a clear solid golden color with a good sized white head that quickly dissipates to a ring on top. Smells of bourbon, vanilla and oak mostly. There’s a faint aroma of light fruit and spicy yeast deep underneath. Taste is pretty complex actually. I get the barrels contribution first, lots of vanilla, oak, tannins, bourbon up front. That’s followed by a sugary malt sweetness as well as some light strawberry and apple flavors. Leaves a long lingering brown sugar and fruit sweetness in the finish as well as a touch of ethanol. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet fruity sugary mouthfeel. Wow that beer has done well with some age on it! Clean smooth complex and flavorful, I wish I had squirreled a few more of those away.

Bottle marked as PN1 157/276 from 11/10 thanks to t0rin0. Pours with a white head over a hazed yellow hued body. Aromas are grassy, peanut shells, hot dog water, rubber cement, tannic and boozy. Flavors of alcohol (FUSEL!), hot dog water, rye?, medium esters, dry and a light acidity. Some metal. Very lively carbonation. Very high attenuation. Not great. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 13, 2011
A: The beer pours an incredibly pale yellow color. This is a tripel?
S: The aroma is almost meaty. Quite woody with a definite coriander note. Some light spices, wet cardboard, and lemon are also present. It’s also got a definite hot dog water aroma.
T: It’s sweet with wet paper and cardboard flavors. A touch of yeast followed by an overwhelming flavor of hot dogs. Just a bit of pale malt and pears. This was pretty awful.
M: Very light bodied for such a big beer. It has medium carbonation.
O: Not a proper color, not supposed to smell and taste like hot dogs. Not sure much was done right on this beer. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 20, 2011
bottle... pours an ugly light milky straw... actually smells pretty good at first, a little white wine with sugar... tastes horrible, a terrible table white wine... bad riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - AUG 18, 2011
Pineapple and coconut on the nose. Lots of it. A little dust shows up there too. Pours hazy orange , nice white head. Flavors of coconut and pineapple, soapy notes, dust, shampoo. Nice carbonation. Kind of like it. Interesting lingering soapy notes. durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 16, 2011
Bottle shared by JCB. Whoa, this was barrel-aged shrimp. How does one make a beer taste so bad? Impressively disgusting.
