COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Napoleons troops referred to Berliner Weisse as the "Champagne of the North" due to its lively and elegant character. Today this style is described by some as the most refreshing beer in the world. Our approach was to brew this beer with Lactobacilius for a refreshing and authentic interpretation of a classic summer refresher.

Yellow can from Whole Foods PM. Pours cloudy gold with minimal head. Nose is honey, pale malt, caramel popcorn. Tastes tart, fruity, with peachy notes, lighter on the palate, vinegary tart finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2014. Hazy, soupy deep gold pour with a small head. Nose is pretty damn cheesy. Molding cheesecake. Sour cream. Some unwashed sock and stewed vegetable. Unpleasant aroma. Flavor is dominated by rotting apples - curdling cider and cheese. Champagne vinegar. Sort of harsh. Light body, soft carb. This hasnt traveled well.

This is a nice, straightforward interpretation of a classic Berliner Weisse. Considering how great Berliner Weisses are in the summer, having something like this thats easily available is a great thing.

Dark yellow clear beer with little head, light bodied without strong aroma. Sour lemon taste with brief finish, not quite as refreshing as the blueberry variety of this beer.

12 oz can into a goblet. By appearance, this looks to be a very fizzy yellow beer but it certainly should not be grouped with most beers that get this description. High carbonation can be seen as well as heard, but seems about right in the mouth, partly due to the light body. The aroma is fruity and tart, as is the taste. Notes of lemon and apple juices. Clean and very drinkable for style.

12 oz can. Pours a fully-hazed golden with a couple yeasty chunks and a white head. Kind of a sour aroma, somewhat off at first, but mellowing and becoming more pleasing. Flavor is sour lemony with a wheaty biscuit finish, touch of saltiness. Really darn tasty after the first few sips.

2014 bottle. Clear gold with ring. Tart aroma with a hint of honey and white wine. Fairly tart apricot sweetness with some cheesy funk a hint of leather and lingering fruit. Light and fairly lively. I think I tend to like low-rated Berliners better than high rated one. Not a favorite style.

12 ounce can poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a moderately hazy copper with a white head that dissipates very quickly. The aroma has subtle grainy bread with a touch of fruity tartness peaking through. The taste has more of the acidity, but it is a fairly balanced approach to keeping doughy and tart on equal playing fields. The acidity comes through more in the finish. Medium body and medium carbonation.
