From a 2013 bottle. Pours murky opaque copper with a fizzy white head. Tastes like toasted malt, caramel, some raisin and grapefruit, yeast, light dry spice. Smells like roasted malt, yeast, light raisin, dry toast, and light dry spice. Bamsen78 (5538) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2013
Draught @ Galaxy Hut, Arlington, VA. Pours slughtly hazy amber with small white head. Clear aroma of hops and yeast. Sweetish flavour of fruit, malt and hops. Rather rough aftertatse. OK but nothing to write home about. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - SEP 21, 2011
Thanks to aapp for sending this bottle out my way. Served in a Mikasa tulip.
Pour a hazy light copper with a thin white head and some spotty lacing. The nose has some faint earth and light bread. The flavor is mildly malty with a bit of earth. Grain and bread crust. Nothing really coming from the yeast. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not terribly impressive, unfortunately. emacgee (4704) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - JUN 8, 2012
Thanks djrn. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a one finger sandy tan head. Nose is acidic and lightly grainy, notes of cherry skin and cereal grain. Kind of slick... Grainy with a soy saucy character. Weird esters and acidity in there. Light bodied and slick on the finish. meeeehhhhhh johnnnniee (4403) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 8, 2011
Pours a cloudy murky reddish brown with a one finger bubbly beige head that slowly recedes. Smells of caramel, brown sugar and biscuit with a hint of fruit and spice. Taste is rich and malty with lots of caramel sugar and dark fruits. Hints of pepper and spice round out the taste. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation, sweet almost sticky mouthfeel. I enjoyed this one. It really wasn’t what I was expecting, but it is a tasty beer.

Shared by emacgee. Muddy orange copper with no head, light off white lace. Nose of faint muddled red fruit, cereal grains, dirty basement. Flavor is quite awful. More dirty basement, grain, soy, really hard to drink. Dump. shigadeyo (3764) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 1, 2017
8/01/2017 (12 fl oz can): Caramelized maltiness, light esters, raspberry, subtle herbal spiciness; orange color, hazy, off-white crown; dry, light caramel, herbal hops, tea, red peppercorn flavor (no spice), rye-like spiciness, no alcohol is detectable; medium body, average mouthfeel; good, not great, lacks depth and strong Belgian flavors. Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike!
The beer has a mild haze and appears orange hued. The head is white and thin, fading rapidly. The aroma is odd, with fruit, funk, malt, and a generally odd scent. The flavor isn’t particularly enjoyable either. This beer is just a bit off. Low carbonation. Not a repeat.

From the 650 ml. bottle marked Fall 2013, no. 1434. It pours a cloudy medium amber with a quick head that fizzles. On the nose I get butter and caramel malts as well as a mild spiciness but little in the way of hops. Not off-putting. The body is medium. The taste is upfront sweet with many Belgian esters and a low to moderate bitterness at the end. But there is also something rather cardboard-like going on. Still, I found it to be relatively easy to drink and enjoy. keepersj12 (3133) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Very nice drinkable beer whatever that means. To me, all beers are drinkable. Anyway, this one starts with a small head over an amber body with a red tint. The aroma was malty sweet with a hint of the hop to come. The flavor was so very well balanced between the two, you could alternate between sweet and bitter. the finish was dry with a lingering after taste. Nicely done.
