A dark mahogany ale with relaxed and mellowed tastes of coffee and chocolate with some hints of licorice, all thanks to the diverse toasted malts used.

Coffee, some chocolate notes, dark brown with a good head, medium body, law carbonation, a bit watery, roasted malts and chocolate...good porter for this dog.

Molto bevibile.

On draught, 330ml at 4:20, Rome. Black with tan head. An intense, bitter porter, lots of chocolate malts giving lots of depth and chunky coffee notes, roasty, licorice. There is an acidity in the finish which i hadn’t expected. Overall very decent, the finish of a great night in a great pub.

Hazy, dark brown ale with light brown head. Aroma: chocolate, dry plums, raisin, coffee, alcholic. Taste: well rounded sweetness and a medium bitterness. Oily/Creamy texture, full body, soft carbonation. Long persistence. Very good Porter.

SHIG (4964) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - JUN 12, 2010
Bottle thanks to the brewer Steve: Poured a reddish brown with a huge tan color head that left nice lace around the glass. Aroma was thick of chocolate, licorice, and roasted malt. Taste was soft coffee, roasted malt, bakers chocolate, and spice.

Bottle at the brewery courtesy of Steve, shared with SHIG. Dark ruby brown color, big tan head, great lacing. Aroma of subtle cocoa, coffee, vanilla. Taste has chocolate, cocoa, vanilla with a smoke edge and medium body. Good character and complexity. Very drinkable.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, also lending it a bit of acidity. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and roasted bread. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Cask at Københavns Øldage 2009, Valby. Pours a dark brown color with a thin fast disappearing tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma with hints of dark fruit. Sweet fruity roasted malty coffee flavor with some weak hints of dark fruit. Has a sweetish roasted malty coffee finish with some hints of chocolate in the aftertaste.

DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2009
500ml bottle from Enoteca Bonatti, Firenze. Utterly pitch with a receding tan collar, but it has been sat in a pintpot in the fridge for a couple of hours (suitcase incident). Unlacy with surprising legs at the ABV. Nicely charred aroma with roasted barley, coal, coffee and Marmite..maybe some Chianti booziness and a little oak, prune and cherry once the head’s gone. Some lactic dubbelesque softness initially moving into black cherry dabs, Twiglet yeastiness, roasted barley and bitter choc, dribble of cafe Italiano..solid roasty finish, good ashy tobacco linger. Tasty authentic effort mingling ashy English stout/porter with a bit of Dubbel milkiness. Mmm.
