Draft Third of a Pint at GBBF 2010 (Day 1), Earl’s Court, London Aug 2010 - Malty; roasty malts, coffee, some liquorice, hint of chocolate. Some light hoppy bitterness. Dry malty and mildly bitter throughout. A decent Irish-style dry stout. (2010-08)

Coffee and chocolate, some smoked notes, Dark brown with a good beige head, medium body, law/medium carbonation, a bit watery, roasted and chocolate again...quite good.

300 ml on tap at Il Maltese. Very dark brown, impossibile to see through, with a nice, creamy and persistent light beige head. On the nose roasted and almost smoked malts, generic coffee and chocolate notes but heavy licorice presence. Solid and ligering bitterness, properly dry but unfortunately way too fizzy and thin with a rather big astringency. Quite herbal and earthy taste. Lively carbonation, light body, slightly oily texture. Drinkable, but not something I’d seek again, in these conditions.

On tap @Mad For Beer (Rome). Pours black, with a decent off-white head. Nose is very fine, delicate notes of chocolate and coffee, a touch of liquorice. Flavour is well balanced and very good again, chocolate, coffee with a bitter and clean end. Medium lo light body, low carbonation. Top class dry stout with a lot of character, complimenti!

Draft. A dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malts combined with chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of chocolate and roasted malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish, where the chocolate note lingers.

Opaque black beer with a tiny tan head. Light dry palate. Sweetish licquorish and some dark malt. That’s about it!
