Lychee and zesty aroma. Pungently hoppy taste. Has a fairly bitter finish. Sweet fruity aspects from the maltiness too. Hopping perhaps a touch harsh, but beside other beers that are somewhat lacking in character, I think I’d prefer a bit too much here, than a bit to little elsewhere.
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Pale straw, greenish tinge with white head. There is a lovely dry bitterness right from the off with this beer, really hoppy with a grapefruity character. Thin on the palate but lasting flavours in the mouth. Very decent and enjoyable. Fin (11051) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2010
Cask, handpump at The Bell Beer Festival, Adderbury, Nr Banbury, Oxon, 04.09.10 I am not 100% certain of the colour as I had this poured straight into my tankard, though I think it is looking a bit golden, there is a white head atop. Crisp citrus showing from the off. There are big grapefruit flavours, its a crisp, refreshing beer, with a constant bitterness running through and loads of grapefruit, tasty stuff and one of, if not my favourite beer of the day. Cask at The Playhouse, Colchester. Poured a clear medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is weak malt hop slightly fruity leading to a medium bitter flavour with a watery malt liquorice hop bitter palate and a super long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. It really was a super liqourice hop bitter ale but very drinkable and fine for a session. Actually i finished drinking this 5 minutes ago and the bitterness in the finish is still there! maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2013
