Two Cask Pints – JDW Fest Autumn 2012 - Dark Brown in colour. Malty; toasty malts, caramel, toffee, hint of chocolate. Fruity; dried fruits, raisins. Hoppy; earthy and spicy peppery hops. Moderately bitter earthy and malty fruity throughout. Liked this a lot. Nice Beer! (2012-11-08)

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 1 Nov 2012. Poured a clear chestnut, with a dense off white head. Aroma of malt, some grass and floral hops. Biscuity malt flavour, with earthy notes and straw. Finish was copper, funked malt and cooked fruit.

Oct/Nov 2012. JDW, Rochester. Dark amber. A traditional robust premium bitter - plenty of bittering hops in a strong malty base. A little too bitter for me.

Nice dark colour with a strong but pleasant aroma. The taste is very malty with a strong caramel back taste, there is also a hint of toffee. Having said that it is very pleasant and the palate and after taste is very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Near Wantage, Oxon purchased and consumed at home 28.08.12 Pours chestnut, good clarity with off-white head. A little nutty, some bitterness, earthy with just a little citrus maybe. Soft in the mouth a little plappy as Loz would call it, I think that I think lacks a little freshness. Fine. Willow Walk, Victoria 2 Nov 11. JDW festivaløl. Dyprød. Beskjeden fruktaroma. Lavt skum som nesten blir helt borte. Vassen smak. Ettersmaken litt syrlig & tørr.
