Oct/Nov 2012. JDW, Rochester. Dark amber. A traditional robust premium bitter - plenty of bittering hops in a strong malty base. A little too bitter for me. SilverfoX (871) - Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2014
dough, leather, caramel. burnished copper colour, no head. medium sweetness, salty, then a nice toffeeish bitter finish, this was much better than i ever thought it would be. very nice. Connor66 (75) - - MAR 8, 2014
Nice dark colour with a strong but pleasant aroma. The taste is very malty with a strong caramel back taste, there is also a hint of toffee. Having said that it is very pleasant and the palate and after taste is very nice.

Bottle from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Near Wantage, Oxon purchased and consumed at home 28.08.12 Pours chestnut, good clarity with off-white head. A little nutty, some bitterness, earthy with just a little citrus maybe. Soft in the mouth a little plappy as Loz would call it, I think that I think lacks a little freshness. Fine.
