Bright citrusy vibrant IPA. Thought it was pretty clean (til the east coast was cleaner). Good brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled 001, 008, 041, and 540 side by side. All poured gold with a white head, had a generic fruity hop base (Cascade possibly?), mild-moderate bitterness, and relatively low sweetness. The 001 and 008 were the two "cleanest" yeasts, with the 008 having a bit more perceived sweetness. The 041 had a touch of a spicy character, and also seemed to have the driest finish. 540 was certainly the outlier, with spicy and lightly fruity Belgian yeasty notes.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Backlog 2012. Draft at the tasting room with Linh while doing a mini-brewery tour of San Diego. Pours a lightly hazy orange body with white lacing. Aroma is light and fruity - maybe some grassy notes as well. Mouthfeel is medium to soft with notes of citrus fruits - but not really bitter grapefruit. More grass comes through on the palate in addition to some nice clean malt and floral character.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the tasting room when they first opened. Probably the 2nd lowest flocc-ed (appearance wise) beer of the flight. Slightly darker hue than the others, lightly hazed golden-slightly bronze. Medium sized white head, not the best retention, but good lace. Aromas are fruity, soft, grassy, medium citrus, light salinity, floral, stone fruit. Much cleaner and drier than most. Lightly malty, bitter, but more rounded than some of the others. A trace amount of diacetyl. Medium caramel malt, light fruit, grassy hops. Lively, dry, lower body, not as sharp as the 009.
