Cask at Max’s Taphouse. Pours clear light copper with a large, frothy off-white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is spicy rye, spicy and earthy hops with faint fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness with light malt and fruity esters, and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation. NomDeBeer (414) - Maryland, USA - JUN 23, 2009
One of the better beers at Red Brick Station. Has notes of rye and cereal malt plus a crisp hoppy finish. I haven’t enjoyed too many rye beers, but this one was pretty good. nuplastikk (6206) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 21, 2009
Draft at the 2009 MD Spring Fest. Hazy golden yellow, not much head. Sweet honey taste, with a mellow, balanced hoppy side. Some peppery yeast, smooth sweet malt, and rye. Surprisingly sessionable and light for a Rye based beer. Finishes thick and robust compared to its watery beginnings. OK.
