Cask at the Bedford Arms, Bedford. Dark chocolate brown with a bit of tan head. Aroma of liquorice, plums and coffee beans, with a bit of coal smoke and chocolate. Taste is mostly sweet with a slight vinegar sweet-sour bite at the end. Pleasant bitter-sour finish and aftertaste. Body weaker than I’d expected, and quite flat. A mixed bag. gegwilson (3701) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2013
Cask in the Babington Arms, Derby. There was a strong toffee flavour to this mahogany coloured beer with a tan head. A bit of a sharp taste at first with quite a bit of fruity flavour. Roasty notes come in later with a chocolate finish. Not the best porter I’ve ever had. imdownthepub (14546) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 1, 2013
Cask conditioned at Harbury Beer Fest ’13. Black with cream head. A thinner Porter than expected, quite fruity, plummy perhaps, medium sweetness, lasting but light on the roasty notes. Fairly average. SarkyNorthener (4609) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2013

Cask gravity at Haddenham Beer Festival, Haddenham, Bucks, 05-07-08 Pours black with no head. Coffee and smoky nose, unlike others here I was very surprised by the bitterness and lack of sweetness, also got the taste of coffee granules in my mouth, I really liked this.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Black with dark brown edges, thin beige. It’s quite a bit of ashtray. Bit smokey. Bit grainy, bit dry. Peaty even. It’s not bad. Going a bit flat in condition maybe. fonefan (49293) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAR 5, 2008

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark red brown with a small off white head. Promising ashtray and rotted bark aroma. Taste has chocolate malt and toasted nut, but also an artificial backgrond that reminds me of paint. Some bitterness. Sorry, this just doesn’t work.
