10/VIII/16 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) shared @ Erwin’s BBQ ponton tasting - BB: IV/2030 (2016-833) Valeriotto82 (9) - - MAR 16, 2016 does not count
Pitch black impenetrable beer, irregular big aery beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: wow! What an aroma bomb! Lots of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, mocha, sweet, alcohol, lovely stuff! MF: very lively carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of chocolate, bit sweet, alcohol, sugary, bit aggressive alcohol bite, bitter hops, bit flat and one-dimensional which is a bit of a let down after that great smell. Aftertaste: mocha, coffee, bitter hops, dry, cocoa powder, alcohol, more chocolate, sourish touch, vanilla, bit dusty.
Buona buona buona! Me ne restano pochissime in cantina e sarà difficile dosarle!
Bottle, bought @Etre Gourmet. Pours deep opaque black with a medium, frothy beige head. Aroma has sweet chocolate, vinious, nuts, oak, vanilla. Highish carbonation, fine oily and quite dry mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, oak, tobacco, chocolate, vanilla. Quite vinious. Clear Bourbon touch. madmitch76 (26850) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2015

Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Dark chocolate nose. Airy palate, semi dry with fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, rich. Good dark chocolate with mild spice and a little wood. Mellow fruity bourbon on the back end. Dark fruits. Light dry finish. Chocolate bourbon linger. A more mature BA offering from White Pony.
Drank at home 22-2-2015. Had higher expectations. The smell is very good. However the taste is weak. Overcarbonated. Tastes fades very quickly and is weak. Still pleasant though. Just expected more from a barrel aged stout of this brewery. Aniela (4215) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 6, 2015
Bottle at home in summer 2014. Black beer with a brown lacy head. Coffee, chocolate, licorice, a bit tar and salty aroma.
Coffee, chocolate, licorice, dark dried fruits and woody flavour, nice bourbon notes.

APPEARANCE: GUSHER, again... Pitch black beer, small stable beige head.
NOSE: bourbon, alcohol, chocolate, coffee, very promising, was hoping for a second White Pony beer I liked...
TASTE: yes, the same, bourbon, alcohol, chocolate, cofee, but very sweet and the taste fades very fast, how is that possible with this amount of ABV? Still on of the less bad White Pony’s I had gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - NOV 4, 2014
330 ml bottle at home. Pours opaque black with a steady little dark beige head. OK the best about this beer is definitely the aroma, that is really close to the Cuvée Delphine of Struise, really elegant and refined. I bt the bourbon used here is the 4Roses as well. Medium body, but way too overcarbonated and a lack of sweetness, which kill the subtlety of the aroma. Taste is rather harsh, rough coffe grind, some vanila and slight candy sugar. Never had a beer where the aroma and the taste were so far from each other. Eviva (29) - GREECE - OCT 24, 2014
Bottle from Etre gourmet. Pours black/deep brown with a gassy mocha big head that diminishing gradually to a thin ring. Huge bourbon aroma , burnt wood , dark fruits , roasted coffee and licorice. Huge punch from bourbon in flavor , burnt wood , dark fruits , caramel , licorice , salty , cocoa with soft vanilla finish. Fullbodied with lively carbonation for the style. Very good beer , but I would prefer less carbonation.
