Very hazy deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is soft and a little dry, modest carbonation. An odd nose, slightly stale malts. The malts are actually smooth and provide some creamy sweetness and a mild unsweet toffee streak. The cognac is there along with a trace of wood. Modest dried fruits. A touch of that odd staleness carries over from the nose. Light finish. Does a reasonable job of keeping it giant abv under control. Interesting beer.
Spettacolare e calda barley wine! Retrogusto intensissimo e molto persistente. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 13, 2014

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Medium sized creamy foamy head on top of a beautiful hazy orange amber colored beer.
Aroma has cognac and vinous notes, some sweet (yellow) fruit tones, sweet malts, some sugars, some cream, some meat and some butter. Very nice.
Flavour is a nice balance between sweet and bitter with some sticky malts and yellow fruits, light vinous notes, hint of woody malts, some sweeter grains and sticky malts... Very tasty!
Low carbo, silky mouthfeel, medium to more fuller bodied and an oily sticky texture.
Delious stuff, no trace of alcohol! Could drink this all night... And collapse, no trace of 16.1%ABV! Special! Martinus (4701) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - JUN 1, 2014
Slightly hazy dark amber colour, white head. Aroma of brown sugar, malts, banana. Very sweet flavour, malts, sugar and alcohol. Oily texture. Sweet, malty finish, caramel and alcohol. The Cognac barrel wasn’t too noticeable, but the alcohol was. Rather boozy.

Copper, full foam. Better than the Strongest Than Ever, maybe for the toasted oak hints. Sweet with fruits, candy sugar, caramel, red fruits. Sippy! KombatAle (129) - New Brunswick, CANADA - MAY 6, 2014
33 cl bottle from Etre Gourmet beershop
Pale reddish copper with a big white foam. Aroma is red and ripe fruits, toffee, candies, malts, tropical notes from the hops, oak. Mouthfeel is full and soft, no carbonation. Taste very sweet, the notes of toasted oak contribute in a more balanced end. I prefer this. Nali89 (11) - - MAY 5, 2014
Rossa con tanta schiuma compatta. Aromi molto dolci, corposissima e liquorosa, avvolgente, da bere lentamente.
