Turtles (2575) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 21, 2016
330ml bottle from Systembolaget, vintage 2015. Deep ruby / brown with a medium sized long lasting tanned head, good lacing. Sugary sweet, malty and vinous aroma, with chocolate, woody and earthy notes. Full-bodied, velvety and chewy mouthfeel. Rich malty taste ripe red apples, almonds, plums, chocolate, vanilla and earthy yeast notes. Long warming finish. Very pleasant.

33cl bottle at home. Hazy dark brown with a small off-white head. Full body with low to moderate carbonation. Nice bitterness with fruity sweetness. Raisin, malts, caramel, booze, ripe fruits, yeast and spices. Good.

Most like a Barleywine. Sweet fruits, light bitterness and slight roasted malts. The yeast does give it something of a Belgian quad. However, it lacks the complexity of those. Not bad at all, but it's not the best of both worlds. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy brown colour. Aroma and flavour have some sticky dried fruits especially dates. Also a slight woody dryness.

Cloudy amber colour. Caramel, toast and malts on the nose. Palate follows nose with added almonds and treacle. Nice and smooth.
