Bottle from Systembolaget (aged for a year or so). Fruity smell with dried fruit, dark fruit and caramel. Sweet taste, very ruity with dried fruits, raisins and prunes. Well hidden ABV. Smooth and creamy despite the high ABV. Very nice!

Fles, thuis. Gekocht bij Van Alsem. Ergens tussen speculaas en kauwgombal. Flink alcoholisch maar erg lekker als je m heel langzaam drinkt... Backlog from 2015/10/18.

Bottle at home. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of malts and caramel, dark fruits, alcohol. Taste is sweet, malts, caramel, cane sugar, alcohol. Sweet caramel and alcohol finish. More a too sweet quad or Belgian strong ale than barley wine.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - DEC 10, 2015
Nice thick Belgian ale. Sticky, sweet, brown malts, white chocolate, apple pie. Quite some smoke too, in aroma and taste. Odd beer but I do like it. Mixed Belgian style with a crafty twist. I have mind all that sweetness. (33cl bottle from QV.ID)
