Bottle at the parents, sourced from Tesco by the Old Man - cheers, 26/01/13.
Pours a ruby red copper colour with a thin off white head that clears to the edge and leaves a swirl of film. Not exactly Porter-esque in appearance!
Nose is light roast malt, dark fruits, plums, dates, hint of spice, light chocolate.
Taste follows nose, roast malt, some milky chocolate, Oreo biscuits, tangy dark fruits in the background, molasses, tobacco.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, fairly smooth on the palate, dry finish. saxo (18208) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 15, 2014
Bottle @ Assentoft tasting. Nice head with excellent duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are little lactose acid, citrus, caramel, malt and hops. A little off. Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 20, 2011
Reddish dark brown. Fruit nose (coconut, pear, honeydew) with toasty and perhaps somewhat coffeish accents. Mainly fruit taste mixes caramel with light toast. Good ale, somewhat more toasty than most bitters but less nutty than any brown ale...and even if you believe in "Irish Ale" I don’t think you could call it that either. Nice. jtclockwork (16444) - , New Jersey, USA - DEC 16, 2013
