Another roasted stout. Theres a nice forward hop in there and nothing unpleasant about the roastiness. But thats it really no head, not creamy. A bit uneventful.

Tap at the Hotel Continental, Whitstable. Poured a clear dark brown with a broken tan head and a few bubbles. The aroma is roasty malt, sweet creamy caramel, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet with a crisp, watery, smoky, liqourice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Overall: nice, quite drinkable, bit light bodied, enjoyed.

Cask at the Claret, Addiscombe. It pours black with a small beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, toast, some acidity, light soy sauce coffee and toasted sesame. The taste is bitter, roasty, liquorice, salty touch, mild acidity, coffee, hint of soy sauce with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Textbook cask oyster stout. Pretty solid.
