Bottle drunk in the Crab & Winkle in Whitstable while eating Whitstable oysters. You cant get much more terroir than that!! Lovely colour with a nice long lasting head. Plenty of toasted malts and dare a say a tang of the sea to the flavour? Great mouth feel and it perfectly complemented the local oysters that were eaten raw with a touch of vinegar. Bliss. I even got my 10 year old to try a bit of oyster; which she hated. Heathen. BeardedAvenger (1024) - Addlestone, Surrey, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2017
Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Nil aroma. Dark. Thin beige head. Light bitter. Slight sourness. Coffee. Berries. Something odd and umami. Pretty light. Minimal carbonation. Astringent finish. Thought it was a pretty poor attempt. Bland as... Godfather50 (247) - SCOTLAND - FEB 5, 2017
Another roasted stout. There’s a nice forward hop in there and nothing unpleasant about the roastiness. But that’s it really no head, not creamy. A bit uneventful. john44 (3311) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2017
Bottle. Black in colour. Malty; coffee, dark chocolate, roasty malts, caramel, hint of vanilla. Fruity; some fruit, raisins. Sweet roast malty throughout. Dry roasty finish. Relatively subtle. Very drinkable. (2010-01)

Tap at the Hotel Continental, Whitstable. Poured a clear dark brown with a broken tan head and a few bubbles. The aroma is roasty malt, sweet creamy caramel, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet with a crisp, watery, smoky, liqourice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
