COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bramble Barrel is an American sour ale inspired by the Gin Bramble cocktail. This beer was brewed with a pound and a half per gallon of local blackberries and aged in NC made Cardinal Gin barrels, which contribute the essence of spearmint. Finished with fresh lemon zest, this sour is best served unshaken and unstirred. Cheers.

Cotteridge tasting #3 on 20th May 2017. Cheers Dave (WingmanWillis) for this offering. By the time the bottle got to me it had been poured into a few glasses already and my glass held a hazy reddy/bronze liquid with no head. Hedgerow berries in the aroma, taste also had red berries and a light citrus leaning, no spearmint or gin flavours for me. Liked it though.

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, wood, red fruit, blackberry, lemon, acidity and mint.

Appearance:
Opaque dark red with a slight off-white/pink head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, wood, red fruit and blackberry; ends slightly bitter, dry and sour with lemon, acidity and mint.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. What an amazing flavour, really making me think of a sour red/brown. Perfect appearance and flavour, and the aroma anf palate fall only slightly behind.

Amber color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Gin, wood, blackberries, mint, lemon, tart finish.

Idiosynkrasie (8204) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - APR 2, 2017
500ml bottle. Clear, deep ruby colour with average, frothy, mostly lasting, minimally lacing, pink-ish head. Fruity aroma, notes of dark berries, bramble, lemon overtones. Taste is dry, sour, fruity, notes of bramble, dark berries, some lemon, woody, tannic notes from the gin BA, bretty influences. Slightly unbalanced, the gin barrel is a disruptive factor for me.
