mixmasterob (1060) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 17, 2016Black pour with a beige head. Big and sweet coffee, cocoa aroma with some roasted malt. Cafe au lait. Sweet coffee is the takeaway. Flavors were somewhat muted with bits of coffee, light cocoa, vanilla. Dull. Mouthfeel was on the plus side with light carbonation. Nothing to write home about on this one. The aroma is mich nicer than the whole. Although I will say the 10% is masked incredibly well.
hman43 (2012) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - MAR 4, 2016It pours black with a dark brown head. The head is fairly well developed. There is a strong aroma of coffee, some roast and slightly brunt elements. There are strong flavors of coffee, and hints of dark chocolate. It has a rich medium feel to it and the coffee flavors are long lasting as well as the bitter punch and alcohol warming that is delivered.
ChainGangGuy (4959) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JAN 20, 2016Appearance: A very dark brown, near black beer. Lacy-looking, tan-hued head.
Smell: Chocolate-edged burnt malt, overdone toast and broiled, blistered fruits mingled amongst the notes of coffee grounds.
Taste: Dark, roasty malts, lightly ashen and leaning towards the coffee addition. A crunchy nibble of burnt bread, some dark bitter chocolate. Lightly sweet. A moderate amount of grain astringency adds to the bitterness. Slight dark fruitiness. Roasty sustained into the bitterish finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: It’s pretty solid!
jcr (2825) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - DEC 18, 2015Draft. Black body with a tan head, diminishing. Sweet aroma of chocolate, roast, coffee and cream. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, moderate carbonation. Taste of sugared mocha coffee that carries a light bitterness, roast and light alcohol.
b3shine (9488) - Indiana, USA - NOV 18, 2015Draft to snifter at the brewpub. Looks good; a very slightly translucent dark cola with ample foamy beige head. Smells of dark malt, cocoa, bitter hops, and roast. Tastes like it smells with a fairly bitter medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
monk191 (2023) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 26, 2015A very nice coffee imperial stout. Pours a deep black with a thick tan head. Smells of tequila, coffee and cream. Taste is very creamy with lots of tequila throughout, and some coffee. Had on tap at the brewery.

Taste comprises coffee grinds, light spice, biscuit, chocolate.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Solid coffee stout, drinks well below the ABV, good balance.
bubbleflubber (2245) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - FEB 27, 2015Draught pours opaque pitch black with a huge 4-finger tan head that leaves thick lacing. The nose has huge chocolate notes, as well as roasted coffee. The coffee smacks you upside the head like a bulldozer, with large bittersweet chocolate notes, dark esters, and finishing with a roasted dark chocolate coffee bean. Wow, this is tasty and silky-smooth down the palate. Gorgeous Impy Stout. Prost!!

DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 18, 20154oz on tap at the brewery. Fantastic roasty exotic and complex coffee aroma up front. Some hazelnut-like creme to it, and earthiness. Love it. Some dark chocolate. Earthy hop, mildly spicy. Bigger bitter taste, moderate sweet. Light sweet bite in the finish. Nice coffee heat in the finish. Black color, though not totally opaque. Ring of light brown head, leaves some bits of lace. Kind of bigger body, but not as thick or chewy as most imperial stouts. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation, mild slick texture, light dry in the finish. Solid coffee stout, but not perfect... Some room for improvement. Coffee carries it, very nice coffee flavor here.
50belair (3746) - Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2015On tap at the brewery. Dark brown pour with a light brown head. Lots of coffee in the nose. Loads of coffee blend with dark roasted malts and chocolate highlights. Good body and mouthfeel.
