COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Previously known as “Red Eye Stout” this beer gets its name from the coffee growing region of the beans used in this imperial stout. The unique berry characteristics of this Mountain Air Roasters coffee in tandem with warm and roasty notes of French Broad Chocolate Factory Cocoa makes for a beer experience you don’t want to miss.

Black brown pour with ruby hints. Clinging tan head and lace that lasts forever. Aroma as advertised is dominated by rich coffee. Flavor is sweet chocolate and sweet coffee. Medium full body with good carbonation. Very nice more chocolate and coffee the law allows

Keg at the Funkatorium. Pours a dark brown with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of rich chocolate, coffee, bourbon and a mild tart finish. The taste is bitter chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla and a bitter finish. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

From some notes from this winter at the pub. Coffee and rich bready aromas with complex chocolate and fruit flavors mixed in there as well. Rich and velvety brew. liked it.

DiarmaidBHK (6170) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 23, 2013
Draft at brewpub. Pours black with a khaki head. Faint coffee and chocolate notes in the nose which expand as the beer warms. Mellow coffee on the tongue with some chocolate touches on the edges. Finishes clean and hides the alcohol well. Solidly nice!
