COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Freak is our San Francisco inspired hoppy monster. At 8.4% abv and who knows how many ibu’s, this beer is our shrine to the Hop. Absurd amounts of all the big West Coast hops give this beer it’s citrusy weedy nose and big dank hop flavor. Drinking this beer is like stuffing your face into a bag of fresh hops while eating a tangerine. We dry hop with 48lbs per batch or over 3lbs of hops per barrel. In following with the classic style of the West Coast double sugar plays a big part in creating this dry and minimally bitter double IPA. The Freak is particularly pintable for the style, so if you dare to enter we welcome you to the Freak Show.

full off white head with fair retention and a firm sticky, lasting lace. Hazy gold color. Mild nose, pine mostly, lil earth and a hint of citrus. Lightly medium body, soft carbonation, touch oily, bit coating on the palate, maybe a bit too much. Fairly dry malts, faint citrus, more pronounced stone fruits, dank? fuck no. Some grass and earth. Fairly dry finish, toddlers bite. Fairly disappointing. West Coast ?? 500 ml bottle from Wayman Beverage. Bottled 8/8/17

First a draft at an ATL bar, then in the bomber in the hotel room. Vastly different experiences. On draft, I found it thin and unappealing. Perhaps an old, unkempt keg. In the bottle, this is more appealing, and more of an apt American DIPA offering. Sticky and hoppy, I'd get it again. (#6767, 8/31/2017)

Draft at the source. Pours clear golden orange with a creamy white head. Nose is orange rind, pine, caramel. Resiny hops flavors, maybe some malt in there, but this is all hops. Medium bodied, moderate carb. Lingering bitter hoppy finish. You may not drink six of these but you’ll sure enjoy one.

On the RBSG16 bus. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Big musk, citrus. Medium bodied, warming alcohol, soft citrus, a bit of wheat and musk. Long grapefruit into the finish. Big and tasty.
