COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Freak is our San Francisco inspired hoppy monster. At 8.4% abv and who knows how many ibus, this beer is our shrine to the Hop. Absurd amounts of all the big West Coast hops give this beer its citrusy weedy nose and big dank hop flavor. Drinking this beer is like stuffing your face into a bag of fresh hops while eating a tangerine. We dry hop with 48lbs per batch or over 3lbs of hops per barrel. In following with the classic style of the West Coast double sugar plays a big part in creating this dry and minimally bitter double IPA. The Freak is particularly pintable for the style, so if you dare to enter we welcome you to the Freak Show.

Golden color with little to no white head. Aroma is light citrus hops. Flavor is slightly hoppy with a clean finish. Rated from a growler, remember it being a little more assertive at the brewery.

I got this at the brewery, my bottle was two weeks old. I may have never had a fresher IPA. Wicked Weed says " Drinking this beer is like stuffing your face into a bag of fresh hops while eating a tangerine," and I guess my main quibble is Id have said "lemon" rather than "tangerine." This beer pours bright, clear, pale orange with a very tenacious, creamy head. I get lemon zest and some spice on the aroma. More lemon on the flavor, with hops, hops, hops. Just a giant, dry, uncompromising bitter, hop bomb that is as good as anything from Portland or San Diego. Yes, its as good as anything from Portand or San Diego. Im talking to you, Stone.

Pours light copper work a thin white head leaving lacking down the glass. Citrusy hops dominate in aroma and flavor. Just enough malt sweetness to stand up to the hops. Clean and crisp. Lingering resinous bitterness. Good light double ipa.

500ml bottle. Tropical fruit hop with tangerine and dank piney hop notes. Pours clear golden colored with a large, soapy white head that has excellent retention but little lacing. Starts with bright tropical fruit hop flavors and citrus hop notes. Finishes dry with citrus acidity and slight piney hop bitterness that lingers on the palate. Nice double IPA.

Tap at Churchkey. Mostly clear orange gold pour with a small soapy white head. Citrus and weed, thats what it is. And its good - damn good.

Pours blonde and transparent with a quick off-white head. Nose is all west coast hops and very floral and bitter with a touch of sweetness. Flavor hits hard on earthy and herbal tones, somewhat betraying the dry hop scheme. Finish is moderate and semi-sweet. Good overall but needs a major change in balance.
