COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with blood orange puree and fresh grapefruit zest, this beer is unlike any other. The richness of blood orange pairs nicely with the tart flavor of grapefruit and hops. We dry-hopped this beer Amarillo and other top secret hops. Why the name Hop Burglar? Level 5 clearance required for this information.

Growler from my awesome mother-in-law. Pours a light clear orange with a small white head. Nose of orange and a bit of grapefruit, with lots of pith. Resiny notes that settle as it warms. Slight tropical notes from the Amarillo hops. Crisp and relatively light for an IPA. Slick palate.

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of bread, light grapefruit and light orange. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, grapefruit and light orange with a smooth dry lightly bitter lingering citrus finish. More of a pale ale in my opinion. I think the Hop Burglar stole all the hops from this one!

12 oz single bottle from Mollys Spirits. Clear golden appearance with a fluffy white head. Somewhat mild aroma of orange peel, grapefruit, zesty hops and toasted grain. Similar flavor, adding mild bitterness, light malt sweetness and a hint of acidity. Medium body with a smooth finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Grapefruit hop citrus aroma with notes of blood orange, tropical fruit and light pine resin. Pours clear amber colored with a huge off white head that has excellent retention and a bit of lacing. Starts with grapefruit hop citrus and acidity with some tropical fruit flavor. Finishes dry with blood orange citrus and slight pine flavor with the citrus coating the palate after each sip for a nice, refreshing finish. Good stuff.

The beer looked nice, with a clear body, amber color, lively carbonation, and head that was durable, but a little small at one finger thick. After reading about the blood orange and grapefruit addition on the label, the lack of a strong citric smell disappointed immensely. The aroma was dull, mildly hoppy at best, and unremarkable. The taste was much better at delivering the fruit, providing a tangy, citric kick, in front of the mild hops. The body was medium dense, the alcohol nicely hidden, and the drinkability quite high. This was not a bad beer, but there are better ones with citric fruits out there.

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange on tap with bubbly white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of dank citrus hop notes, sweet and resinous. Taste follows, great fruity hop notes. Solid IPA from wicked weed.

From notes. Had this one at Dougs House with a get together with he and Chris on August 22. 12 oz bottle. The pour is a nice coppery golden color with a thicker ivory colored head that falls down slowly, leaving a pretty good lace. The aroma is definitely citrusy. There is a good blood orange and a light grapefruit. The hops are really dank and lightly malty on the back end. I like the resin bitterness. The flavor is a little better. There is more of a citrusy juiciness to it and a bitterness that comes with it. Its definitely a good thing. The malt fades a bit, but its still present. I love the juiciness and the equally intriguing bitterness. The mouth feel is light and crisp with a brighter carbonation and a lingeringly bitter and fruity finish. This is pretty damn tasty!
