3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewpub. Light amber body. This one seems maltier and a bit more pedestrian than their other offerings, including the wonderful weaker ABV but hoppier Napoleon Complex. Solid but nothing remarkable.
4oz on tap at the brewery. Awesome biscuity malt -- a touch of roast ? Is my palate already that blown? Definitely toasty, very interesting malt profile here... No shortage of hops, either. Bigger spicy, mild citrus hop. Moderate to bigger bitter taste... Definitely more hoppy and bitter than your average pale ale (even the average hoppy pale ale). Clear golden orange color. Thin ring of white head, some loose bits and short ropes of lace. Fantastic pale ale. This was my 8th 4oz tonight, but it disappeared faster than any of the others thus far. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - FEB 4, 2015
draft at Wicked Weed, Asheville, NC. Orangish pour, medium bodied. Pine notes, herbal, garden weeds, grassiness. pretty bitter APA. b3shine (9025) - Indiana, USA - MAR 7, 2014
Draft to taster at Wicked Weed. Looks good for the style; a transparent golden orange with white lacing. Smells and tastes of mild hops and pale malt with a notable grain presence as well. Average on the palate. Alright, but forgettable. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - FEB 26, 2014
draft at bottle rev. nice but nothing special. If it was dry hopped it wasnt long enough or it wasnt fresh enough. Had next to mother earth second wind and that was better. drowland (8888) - Georgia, USA - DEC 18, 2013
11/26/13. On tap at the brewpub. I was disappointed in this one, though it wasn’t bad. The people are dumb, I guess. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Mild hop aroma, some citrus and fruitiness, mild pine/resin. Mild flavor, lightly bitter, some generic citrus and maltiness. I was hoping for more fresh hop pop. Not bad.

Growler into a tulip glass. Funny how because this beer doesn’t absolutely floor me that I want to hate on it because Wicked Weed has spoiled my palate with the finest use of hops. Objectively, this is a very good pale ale. It’s light on the palate, refreshingly citrusy with a reasonably complex and immaculate hop presence. It’s highly sessionable and well balanced. It’s a great light-bodied beer which is what I think they were going for here. If I could get 6 packs of cans of this, I’d drink it all summer long at the pool. aracauna (3637) - Georgia, USA - JUN 25, 2013
Big orangey hops. Nicely balanced malts. Very solid American pale ale. I like the hops here. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 19, 2013
On tap at WW, Asheville. Thanks, Abbie! Nice looking medium orange pour, a touch cloudy, light fluffy head. Brisk and inviting aroma, mostly bright citrus with moderately bitter notes too. Full mouthfeel, light and thirst-quenching at the same time. Flavors a bit understated when compared to the nose, but fairly complex as these beers go and certainly a worth session brew. A pint consumed at the brewpub with a meal. A nice pale ale, golden-colored, and a light head. Citrus and pine on the nose. A bit of a bitter honey flavor on the palate wrapped up with a grapefruit finish. It was okay, but not exceptional.
