COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This sour pumpkin ale was bred with charred ginger and a touch of spice. We then layer the beer down with our house funky blend of beer in rum barrels for over one year. The result is a completely unique take on this seasonal favorite ale.

Orange-amber appearance, with a ring of head. Lovely rum-ginger pumpkin tendrils unfurl to the nose and roll across the palate. Muted pumpkin spicing. Rum and pickles finish. Intriguing.

500 ml bottle from beer store in raleigh. Nice mellow flavors. Graham crackers with pumpkin spices. Rum is somewhat present on the backend. Great.

You know how you loved that local band, wished them all the success in the world, and then hated them when they signed with a big label? Yeah, well fuck you! Bottle from Julio’s. Clear copper, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of oak, pumpkin, rum, citrus, a bit of apple. The taste is apples, pumkpin, rum, oak, tart finish. Medium bodied, mild lingering tartness. Solid.

Aroma: chianti; Appearance: light amber, hazy, with thin white head; Taste: getting pumpkin and ginger with lots of funky sourness; Palate: medium body with long pumpkin/sour finish; Overall: ok, but not my favorite.

Shared 2015 bottle with garlic butter shrimp. Second pumpkin beer of the season and haven’t had a bad one yet (sour pumpkin- BFS also great). Pretty redish pour- not much head. Great balance between sour notes and rum. Pumpkin is subtle, but present. Get more of the pumpkin spice (clove, nutmeg) than actual pumpkin. Charred ginger adds a whole different element- takes down the spice but adds a distinct warmth. Some red wine notes in there too. Complex, contemplative and delicious.

Draft at wicked weed funkatorium. Hazy orange color. Aroma is ginger, nutmeg, oaky vanilla. Taste is mildly sour. Familiar wicked weed acidic funk. It’s not really pumpkin, but the spices associated with the pumpkin beers, but in a sour. It’s different and executed about as good as I could imagine, but the sour and spice flavors don’t really work for me.

Lightly hazy copper under a thin white cap. Wild funky nose that’s got some bright melon and wild yeast tones and a little rum and light wine barrel. Crisp tart flavor that’s rummy, red wine grapey and a little sour and melon-like with a fun bit of wild tones and red grape and plum and funk eccentricity. Amazing. Can’t tell it’s a pumpkin sour. Hardly taste any ginger.

Poured a dark orange color with a white head. Aroma was big ginger, fading into light vinegar and sweet tarts. Flavor similar, hard to otolaryngology past the ginger, but finished with classic wicked weed
