On tap at Apex, pours a murky dark orangey maroon with a medium beige / tan head. Aroma brings out moderate bourbon notes, vanilla and dark fruits. Flavour brings out loads of vanilla notes, bourbon, followed by dark fruit and caramel. Extremely well-balanced, and definitely the best of the trio. Dangerously drinkable. 12/12/2013. From bottle. Deep amber color with a short white head. Oaky flavors with caramel and citrus. Boozy flavors with oak dominating, fruit and hops follow, Nice if you like a lot of oak, Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - DEC 11, 2013
Pours an amber mixed with copper color. Aroma is of bourbon and whiskey combined with malt. The cask taste comes through, with distinct oak barrel flavor. The complex palate dissipates rather quickly which allows the alcohol content to be hidden. beerbastard (844) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - DEC 4, 2013
22oz bottle, reddish brown pour. Minor aromas, some malts. Roasted flavors, some bourbon, mild sweetness, astringent in the finish. Not worth the price. Does not blend well.

22oz bottle. Poured a brownish color with a smaller sized off white head. Earthy, woody, lighter bourbon, and citrus. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Bottle at Tony/Jim BA Birthday Extravaganza 2013 (Western Springs, IL). Pours a nice darker amber brown hue, gentle copper glow on the edges with decent haziness. Frothy offwhite head atop stays as a decent filmy layer, ok lacing. Aromas are citrusy lemon, orange and gentle dryness. Vanilla, butterscotch and oak. Mellow spirit and sweetness. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a bit more full with toasty malts, biscuits and cherries. Firmer citrus rind is oranges, gentle oak and vanilla. Touches of spiruit and warmth, toast and biscuits. Some soapy earth, dryness and oak. A bit tannic, not hot but a firmer non-descript sweeter strong ale. Backend is a bit biscuity, some vanilla, and gentle tartness, a bit tannic and dry. A weird beer, the Bourbon doesn’t offer that much life. Still, it’s ok. Looks great. Gentle warmth grows a touch. UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - NOV 12, 2013
